Remember when I majorly dissed Fae after watching him play for one half and being unimpressed and how some of HNA erupted into his defence.

LOL

It looks on paper like most of the fee back, but how much has the pound fallen against the euro since last summer? The loss on this reckless piece of business including wages is probably more than some supporters earn in a lifetime. Fae sums up the premiership for me - on the one hand he doesn't give a toss, on the other he's the record signing but the fact I have never seen him play doesn't bother me at all.

That's very true I'm just fooling around - and basking in my luck really. Still, it tickles me :)

Anyway who knows, he may go to Nice, become excellent, be recalled and do a damn fine job, hit form and become a star for us. Stranger things have happened.

Only if Coppell goes before a deal is struck at the end of the season or Nice don't want him.

the deal is 2.35m, and the club will save money as Nice are paying his wages for the year

If we were buying a player in euros it would certainly cost us more pounds but as we are selling, we could sell for less euros and still receive the same amount in £££s due to the strengthening of the euro.

Wouldn't it mean Reading got less of their money back than you might think?

That's not the point - when we're down to Championship economics it's not what we paid in the past, it's how much we have to pay in salaries in the present that's the problem.

My point was just that this might turn out to have been an even more reckless bit of business than it seems at first glance.

Not seen this reported here or on the official site yet. Saved on wages, but no transfer fee in.

He's gone on a year-long loan to OGC Nice, with an option to make the transfer permanent. The rest is just bumpf about how he was great and Nantes, but had a "complicated" season with us.

BYE!!!

So that's at least our last two record signings who have been flops.

(if you don't want to include Seol or Lita, and they easily could be included)

Would you consider Lita as a flop??? Surely, if sold, he will go for more than we paid too.
