Will be a tough game. Forest will definately be up for it and infront of a good crowd will make it hard for us. But I'm going to be positive as usual and go for a 2-0 Reading win. Lita and Kebe the goalscorers.

After starting a day later than the rest of the competition Reading managed to get off to a flyer. With only two minutes played Leroy Lita instinctively prodded home at the near post after Kevin Doyle had proved too strong and too quick for Forest's defence. Lita threatened a second three minutes later when his header was well tipped over by Paul Smith. At this point it must have dawned on the Forest faithful that things in the Championship had changed somewhat since their last visit. Reading are now seen as favorites not only in this match, but also title winners in many experts’ eyes. It was Reading that were showing a pedigree and all the signs of a team with something to prove. Opportunities for the hosts were few and far between, as seasoned campaigners Ingimarsson and Duberry used their Premier league experience to nullify any threat from Earnshaw and Cole. Forest managed to hold out for half an hour before James Harper's curling free-kick left Smith rooted to the spot as the ball nestled in the top right hand corner of his goal. With only a minute left in the first half Reading made the game safe. Bobby Convey took a pass from the impressive Harper across the half way line before driving diagonally across the pitch. Just as everyone thought he had missed his opportunity to shoot, he found Doyle with a delightful back heel and the Irishman duly slotted home.
At the start of the second half Forest forced the issue with a succession of corners and an Earnshaw effort that shaved the bar. Forest's attacks were becoming desperate, as they seemed to forego any passing aspirations in favour of long balls hit in hope more than expectation. With their Ideas running out, their belief and energy were finally exhausted when Lita hit his second and Reading's fourth when he executed a quite wonderful first time volley from the edge of the area. Reading went on to control the rest of the game, with late substitute Shane Long racing away to round Smith and finish well from a tight angle.
With the Away end resounding to chants of “We want our trophy back" Reading's players have the look of a team determined to give the fans just what they want.
