Doyle

I come in peace lol

I was just wondering what you guys make of the increasing speculation that Kevin Doyle is on the verge of joining Villa?

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 82,00.html

I rate him highly, although he seemed to struggle last season, do you think he could cut it at Villa? He seems to be a good finisher, so im hoping if we do sign him he would score a fair few goals (we tend to make alot of chances, but Carew and Gabby Agbonlahor are pretty irratic finishers).

Good luck this season, i expect to see you back visiting Villa Park next season in the Prem :D

We're your feeder club.

I can't see what Doyle would bring to Villa that Agbonlahor and Carew don't already possess and I can't see him getting in your team ahead of them. I hope he stays with us. But I bet he won't, if you offer over £4 million for him.

Yeah, sorry about that....Sidwell (via the Chelsea reserves) and Shorey, now possibley Doyle.

Coppell seems a manager that is good at replaceing people though. You gave us the run around for most of that game a couple of weeks ago.

He won't ever get ahead of Carew and Agbonlahor, although you do need some back up behind them and he could do a job there. He's one of the hardest working forwards you will find.

I reckon you'll get him by the end of the window. He won't be cheap though, reports suggesting £8-£10m - not sure that he gives you much different though.

This is the kind of thing that just reminds me not to worry too much about what other fans/pundits think about my club

Adds some real hard work, where you need to grind out results Doyle can have a real effect grinding down defenders with his pace and work rate. Good signing imho and gives you something a bit different.

I hope it's true.

He had one good season in the Premiership and has been shocking since. If he's made enough of a name to be sold for £7-8m then I'll drive him up to Birmingham myself.

He'll be a loss, sure, but very over rated.

Go away.

Doyle is staying.

He can be as irratic as the best of your strikers.

You contradict yourself. You say he has been shocking and that he will be a loss. Surely if he was shocking we would be glad to give him away.

As for saying he had one good season that is also rubbish. He was excellent in his first season and really good up until he got injured two thirds of the way into his second season. He did after all score 13 PL goals that season.

He may not have played so well last season but was still a pivotal part of the team when we did well.

Why would you accept 7M or so when he is unlikely to be replaced like for like and our chances of promotion will be seriously diminished.
