SpaceCruiser How many games has he played? Has he been coming off the bench more than starting? Might be a reason along those lines that Reading are not satisfied about.

ah - not thought of that?

He's only come off the bench once, Spacey. He's started four league games for them and impressed.

The only reason I can see for this is if a league 1 or c'ship side are interested in taking him on loan.

Shrewsbury supporters liked him a lot.

http://blueandamber.proboards48.com/ind ... rd=general

Some pasted comments:

Very good player. I heard he was very happy at Shrewsbury but Reading wanted him back

good first game but then faded.good luck though Siggy

he had a great first game, but didn't do a greta deal since, a steady display in the JPT.

I think he is a very good prospect.

Sigurdsson was brilliant today, I think he will contribute something the next month or so

Sigurdsson was awesome.

Just back and I have to say my man of the match is Sigurdsson what a superb player. He never stopped trying through the match.

great stuff today sigurdsson was a class act lets hope we can keep him a bit longer

Sigurdsson had a great debut. Looks a class player

Yeah Sigurdsson is a great player, wonder if we can afford to keep him

Sigurdsson SON SON,
He's better than Everyone
Sigurdsson SON SON
Hes our midfield magician
With his left, with his right,
He is Nordic Dynamite
From the Royals he on loan
And he s**ts on Ian Woan

Sigurdsson SON SON, He's better than Everyone Sigurdsson SON SON Hes a midfield magician He's on loan but we dont care cuz he will score from anywhere

Five in the league. And he also started against Dagenham & Redbridge in the Johnston's Paint Trophy, so he's only been a substitute once and started every one of their other games.

Would read better as 'Gylfi SI-GURD-SSON' in my opinon, but other than that it's a quality song.

I think you might have to adjust it slightly...

Found this on Shrews fansite:

Click on the left hand 'Forside' menu and scroll down and click on 'Vis Flere Saker' at the bottom, then scroll down and click on Norge - Island G19 dated 27/04/08, 29 minutes and 40 seconds in (Game time 23rd min) and what a screamer!! If he can score goals like that for us over the next month I'll be happy.

Does seem a really strange this decision, after all in the second month we could also recall him at any time. Not even close enough to the 3rd Round Saturday to be for cup reasons.

Anyone for starting a good conspiracy theory on this one?

I just wonder if we are thinking of sending Karacan out on loan,so Sigurdsson returns to hang around the fringes of the first team.

Good call. Can't see any other reason, apart from maybe a League 1 club coming in for him. Karacan aint gonna get near the team, unless there's an injury, until the FAC 3rd round.

Perhaps he wasn't enjoying it there, or perhaps the feedback we got from him was that the Shrews setup wasn't doing much good for his development or we're worried about their facilities or medical setup, etc?
