Steve Coppell Quotes

by Geekins » 23 Dec 2008 11:14

Can someone please tell me some funny or witty comments from our great manager Steve Coppell?

I have a work colleague who keeps on saying, "i'm at a loss to explain the poor quality of our performance", "I cannot insulate myself from the situation", and "He won't be doing that again".

I want to come back to hime with some other Coppell quotes, Thanks

I think maybe you're getting Steve Coppell confused with Gordon Strachan. Easily done.

"I really don't know my team yet. I usually find that a quiet hour watching Bonanza or something will make my mind up for me."

REPORTER:…it’s uncharted waters

SC: It’s shitty waters. You can quote me on that. It’s smelly and it’s clingy.

Well we will have to try and keep eleven men on the field! That in itself can be a test for us sometimes, but Sonko isn't here so we have probably got a better chance!

"It's just a game of football. There are 1.2 billion people in India who couldn't give a s*** what happens to Reading."

When talking about the possibility of him becoming the next England manager.

"They keep spelling my name wrong and putting an O at the end"

Paraphrased a lot probably, but when talking about Little who'd done his hamstring at home walking upstairs:

"We've asked him to move to a bungalow"

I let my players' football do the talking and Shorey's football is speaking very eloquently at the moment.
