If you did have a Hall of Fame I'd prefer there to a list of nominees from former players/staff/RFC journo's to then be voted on by the supporters.

Also as they do for Baseball's HOF a period of say 5-10 years should have passed since they were involved with RFC before they can be voted in, to stop short term popular players being voted for. I can't understand all those voting for Doyle NOW based on 3 seasons worth of performances (though he might well prove himself long term)

Can't disagree with most nominations put forward and I'm not qualified to go back beyond 1994/1995 but in that period I'd say Parkinson and Gilkes get in and at a push Adrian Williams. Murty and to a lesser extent Shorey might get in down the road on the playing side.

SSC aside, Kevin Dillon might also be worth a nod given his involvement over the past 15 years and I'd perhaps argue that at this moment in time he's done a little more in his time at the club then SSC. As a player he was part of the Championship side in 94 before coming back shortly after to be a youth coach. He was then Assistant Manager when we went up in 02 and the playoff campaign in 03. Then he stayed under SSC and shared the same successes as he did. Anyone have any thoughts?

Is there a space in here for Mr JE Syddenham who formed the club back in 1871? (or at least was our first Chairman, I'm sure some sad git will pick me up on some minor point)

Also Roger Smee & co who saved from extinction in the 1980's.

And let us not forget the great Keith Scott.

Thanks for picking me up on that one Wimb, Randolph was indeed a better player than old Keith. I apologise.

During the war. And that doesn't deserve a mention, neither does Best. He did less for Reading than Shane Long.

Why no mention of Alan Pardew?

Ok he jumped ship as soon as Wet Sham came calling, but think of where we were when he took over,
with gates of 5000-6000!

He did a good job, but any competant manager should have got us out of tier 3 with the infrastructure and funds we had.

Not within a 100 miles of a hall of fame for 10 people IMO.

Although he would probably appear in the top 5 managers.
