Favourite Hunty memories?

by Archie's penalty » 23 Jan 2009 12:54

IF he goes then what are your favourite memories of the guy?

For me the foraging run which brought a free-kick against Liverpool, from which Doyle got the header. 5.16 here:

Also the back-heel to Shorey against Charlton. Here:

And of course the Cech incident (when we were first truly noticed in the prem).

Any other memories?

I think our 3-2 win against Middlesborough made people sit up and take notice.
Can't get a better sign of that than the 1st game of MOTD on the first game of the season.

Has he gone yet?

Its not confirmed yet hes going?

But anyway my favourite Hunty moment was this season against Preston. In the last minute we had a corner the ball boy and/or steward didnt give the ball back. Hunty jumps a couple of rows to get the ball back.

Then as the final whistle goes Hunty goes up to a well built steward and has a massive go at him. I was really impressed by Huntys desire to win.

Says on both Sky Sports and The Sun, that Reading have agreed a fee of 5m.
Either way, will properly miss him, brought alot to the team. lets hope Tabb can step up to the plate.

I cant seem to find on the skysports website where Reading have agreed the fee... is it on the OLD report that they keep reposting?

I may have confused this with a dream, but didn't he pick Ronaldo's pocket as he was showbboating in midfield - priceless

Good for them. But for a transfer to take place it needs BOTH the clubs and then the player to agree terms.

I'm sure he'll go, but he's not yet.

Would have to be his celebration after his first goal against West Ham. You can't blame him him for joining a top premier league club.
Good luck Hunty will miss you.

His off-side goal away at Everton when he ran in a circle round the defender at the far post.

Or Wigan for that matter.

My fave Hunty moment was the second goal at Spurs in the Cup last season. He'd been getting stick all afternoon from the Spurs numbskulls, winding them up something rotten. So to pop up with the equalising goal from an acutish angle was a sweet moment. If he repeats that performance week-in, week-out for the Latics, he'll do OK. I just have the feeling that he's done a Shorey and switched off with us. Hopefully he can find the spark again, unlike his mate Nicky.

Hunt played 7 minutes of that game. For all Reading Bedding's many faults, the man isn't an idiot. Tedious drone maybe, so presumably this is another piece of 'hilarious' irony from the man with more soundbites than Alistair Campbell or he has been murked by a sneaky, underhanded piece of title editing.

Anyway, the moment that will spring to mind when I recall Stephen Hunt will be the horror-tackle at Man City which showed the man at his petulant worst. Thanks for all the corners and free kicks this season, so long and thanks for all the fouls. Enjoy your fat pay check, you floppy haired, roister-doister you. The only Reading player I can think of who got booed more by opposition supporters than by his own.

His goal at Bolton in the 3-1 win towards the end of 06/07 - and the celebrations in the Reading end straight after.
