LMFAO!! id rather support a club that won't go bust when parachute payments finish and finish top 4 in the championship than soton or any of the other ex-prem clubs who spend big-still dnt go up and go bust/ are broke

2 many think we should be in the prem/ only want to watch or see reading in the prem, division 2 was not so long ago, we have made probably the most progress of a club our size in recent years than any other and still our supports aint happy well oxf*rd you all and goodbye

Said many times over the last couple of months our players don't have the passion and desire to get through the play-offs, we look so average ! we look and have looked for sometime a complete shambles with no leadership on or off the pitch. These players appear to have no idea of effort or desire. Clearout time has arrived, we should have walked this league, but our players have shown totally no desire to do so.

oh well this season is over. Have to look forward to next season now and see what happens.

just absoutely gutted that after the first half of the season were playing like we have since christmas.

unfortuately coppell does the same with all his clubs. get them to the top and can never repeat it. thats what happened to palace.

Hmm. Not sure how I feel about tonight's game.

One positive I take is genuine optimism at the line-up that started the game. Long, Church, Pearce all in - and my realisation that these players would more than hold their own tonight. I thought that for the first hour, Tabb and Marek were fantastic; I thought that conversely, what would turn out to be Coppell's last act as a manager, his triple substitution, bringing on the old guard, was desperate and an absolute f*cking disaster.

Difficult to know what our squad will look like in August, but we've got a decent base. Harding improves by the game, and would be a decent acquisition as cover for Stretch.I hope we keep Bikey, but I'm sure Duberry will stay, and maybe Pearce can become first-choice in the defence.

Tabb and Marek have bags of potential as a midfield pairing, but whether they were so effective in the first half is down to Gunnarsson presence as a tackling midfielder I don't know.

Church was very lively and got in a lot of great positions. Contributed infinitely more than Kitson did.

Sad, but not surprised, at tonight's result.

Ahh and as I thought, it turned out to be a hugely dissapointing end to Steve Coppell's tenure at Reading FC. A ridiculous team selection saw Church make a debut in a huge game, a bizarre way of setting up but we did alright first half. Not many chances created but Reading were the forecful team, didn't score and that was the problem.

2nd half caught out by a worldie strike, Coppell made 3 subs, took the worng players off, they scored the 2nd straight away and game totally over.

I don't really want to dwell on it too much, simple fact is Reading haven't been good enough all season. 4th place flattered Reading, Burnley did waht they had to and good luck to them in the final.

Huge rebuilding job for the club starts now, new manager, a new staff and i imagine a hefty player overhaul. Can't happen soon enough in all honesty.

First out the door should be Hunt, Harper, Kitson, Rosenior and Little and then move on to the out of contract players. Seriously 20 players need to be shifted off that squad list.

Star Man tonight Jay Tabb I felt, looks a tidy player who can have a role to play next season.

It took some achievement really to be 3-0 down after 150 minutes of the tie to a team who hadn't even got Hahnemann's gloves dirty during that time. Ludicrous selection of Church was only marginally less baffling than the withdrawal of our best creative outlet Matejovksy in order to service the huge egos of SHunt and Kitson, who at least will never play for us again.

kitson can go and rot in the midlands. as someone said earlier he is a shadow of his former self and he wont get a game at stoke next season. expect to see him panic bought to much acclaim by forrest or the posh. shunt has to go to. i just think that after his performances since the window slammed there are going to be lamentably few takers for an egotistical knob jockey of his ilk....

Last night was the Reading I know and unfortuately love; disappointing. A massively bizarre choice of Church upfront was, in my opinion, the last move of a desperately unhappy and frustrated manager (of course that wasn't the last move, the triple "threat" was). How on earth did that bunch of players go from beating Wolves and smashing Wednesday go to such inept, souless, headless chickens?

Fair play to Burnley, they got the tatics spot on. Keep it tight for the first 45 then hit them in the 2nd half. We never turned up right from the word go in that half. Tabb might have gotten stuck in a bit more, but for me, he's too lightweight for the middle. Long was hopeless and Kebe is just a complete joke.

I really fear for next season. I'd take mid-table obscurity now, it's going to be a season of transition and we better get used to the fact we're not going to be pushing promotion for a while. At least it'll be easier for me to get a ticket

But it wasn't the same team. That was partly the problem. We missed Ingi, Doyle, Hunt, Armstrong and probably one or two others.

Agree with you on the first point, though - you can always rely on Reading to find new ways to disappoint.
