Snowball If we got Brendan Rodgers, what chance of getting Tommy Smith
a top-end goal-scoring midfielder?

Agreed he is a class player.

Now is quite a good time to be looking for a new manager, there are quite a few decent managers out of jobs at the moment.
i quite like the idea of giving Ole Gunnar Solskjær a go... spent most of his playing career under Alex Ferguson, and i rekon he has the potential to be a good manager.
Personally, my 1st choice would be Andy Scott from Brentford... the last manager we had who had previously managed brentford did alright for us  and he has shown this year he has the skills.
Parky might be a good choice, not 100% sure if i want him now though.
Hoddle would be ok, he is a good manager.
Aidy Boothroyd would also be a really good choice...he took a worse team than us up to the premiership the same year as us... and i think would have got automatic if we hadn't had such an amazing season.
Don't escpecially want anyone from the club already... nothing against any of them, but i don't think it will lead to a change, they will just follow the style they have worked under for the last few years.
The only person i really don't want is Curbishley... no real reason behind this... i just don't like the bloke 8)

I just hope people on here don't expect a immediate improvement next year.... it will take a while before who ever comes in to build his own team who play how he want.... I'm not expecting promotion next season, and think it would be silly to expect it.

Jurgen Klismann

With him, we might even attract Toni and Podolski.

Well with that idea, Jose Mourinho. Then we'll be able to attract Ibrahimovic. WCBAP though...

Brendan Rodgers (bought, rather than poached off Watford) - the next Mark McGhee, young, ambitious, hungry for success, driven, relatively inexperienced but some great contacts and mentors within the top levels of the game who will help him succeed.

Dirk Gently If I was a betting man I'd be piling all my dosh onto Rogers - except the odds don't make it particularly worthwhile.

Would they pay out if you've spelt his name incorrectly?

Will all you folks please pay our future manager due respect and learn to spell his surname correctly!!

Skybet slash odds on Brendon Rodgers tonight to 3/1

But having just seen the Gus Puyet interview on Sky and how keen and enthusiastic he is to take over at Reading "They're a big club", I love him long time.

I don't know why people are suggesting Bothroyd, we all complained about hoofball enough this year! would only get worse with him in charge.

If Boothroyd takes over will he offer Marcus a lifetime contract due to his love for pumping the ball to nowhere on every goal kick?

I want Aidy Boothroyd.

Young, enthusiastic, clever, ideas, ambitious. Someone the players would respect and trust.

Remember he played long ball at Watford due to the options available to him. I think he would play much better footie here with the options we have.

I would take Sean O'Driscoll too.

No to Poyet, Pards and others thank you very much.

Klinsmann is currently unemployed - Mourinho isn't.

I imagine any new manager would have to work with the director of football here- one thing that might increase the chances of Tisdale being appointed (as Exeter have one I believe). Curbishley would be good (though would he actually want to come?) as would Rodgers or Dolan.

i like the idea of Poyet, alot of the other names being brandished about are a bit underwhelming.

If we got Poyet I would gnaw off one of my legs. Like the idea of the wierdo with the cat. Saw them outside the Magastore before the game last night.

Arnie_Pie Anybody seen this from Poyet on SSN?

Uruguayan tactician Gus Poyet has thrown his hat in the ring to succeed Steve Coppell at Reading.

Poyet enhanced his reputation during his time at Leeds under Dennis Wise, "

This has single-handedly cheered me up

Parky every time.Any player not pulling their weight (and lets face it theres a fair few)can expect a lunging slide tackle in the nether regions.
Oh yeah and ive stuck a few bob on him at 20/1 and used to deliver curries to him back in the day which are pretty good reason to give it to the Parkster.
Garn john boy you know it makes sense.OOH aah etc blah.

Poyet would be the perfect replacement for Coppell imo.
