I hope Leroy doesn't do anything hasty, because of all the four released "senior" players he has the most potential. Rodgers could bring back the old lethal Leroy.
(See comments elsewhere about the effect he's had on Jobi McAnuff.)

That's hypothetical of course 'cos Phil Parkinson is going to be the next manager.

Well I doubt he's going to hang around waiting for a call.

Is this the same Lita that has rejected 3 possibly 4 offers of a new/extended contract going back over the last two years. Duh!!! He doesn't want to be here, him and his scroaty agent think they will do better on a free.

Even coming back with another team I can't see him being able to do any more damage to Reading than he managed to do at the training ground and in the dressing room. A hat-trick might beat us in one game, but that won't cause as as much harm as his attitude has since coming back from Norwich.

Still people try to big up Lita. Laughable.

I have never seen anything on-pitch that caused me to have any major doubts about his attitude, but if DG suggests there were problems off-pitch then I have little doubt about its veracity.

My problem with Lita was always that he just isn't particularly good. As I said a couple of years ago he will end up bouncing around the lower leagues - another Leon Knight type.

Ideal Just look at the timeline:
Lita sent out on loan: we string together great results, and look set for promotion
Lita returns and brings his disrupting attitude back with him: everything turns to shit

I think with players like that you need the right manager to get the best out of them. (not saying coppell was a bad manager but it struck me you needed a certain attitude to play for him)

Warnock and Blackwell to a similar extend have alays been excellent at getting players to play for them and to their potential. Similar situation to Halford.

If he didn't reject us again i'd take a chance on him at the lane. Hes always seemed a really good player and if full of confidence looked a threat in the prem and this level.

( incidently weren't united willing to pay in excess of £1m for him in Jan - seems a stange decision not to try to get some sort of fee for him. I'd have some money on us making an attempt to sign him if we were to go up)

In hindsight it does unless he is somehow still on our radar!. Who knows whats going on with him and his agent and this club.

My apologies to those posters who blame Leroy for all the ills at our club.

I was a big fan of Lita and really wanted him back.

I turned out to be totally wrong as he did b*gger all for us in his first team spell.

Whilst I still like him it's hard to defend someone who had an amazing rub in the Prem but produced nothing since.

I'm a little disappointed that he's not still on our books but on the other hand how long would we wait (and expect him to put up with) to see him go back to his former glory? And how much disruption would he bring in the meantime?

Like so much about our club over the last couple of years, you're tantalized by what could be. It's not a stretch to imagine Leroy tearing up the Championship and scoring 25 goals. It's just a question of how long you're willing to wait.

If I was a manager looking at Reading as an opportunity, I would not be too impressed at the club's decision to let a player like Lita go.
