Would that be the same Harper that was roundly vilified on here while he was in the team this season for playing sideways and waving his arms around a lot, and rosenior, who it seeems was fully incapable of passing the ball forward to a reading player, if it stayed on the pitch? And gunnarsson, who even his staunchest fan, WR, agrees that he cannot last for 90 mins anymore.

Basingstoke Royal We will be fine. Why all the negativity?

We will have a very good squad next year and will give anyone a game.

Lets wait and see.....

Not sure how anyone can think they know what will happen next season, considering we don't know who the manager will
be and which players will come and go.

I think I'll wait and see who our new manager is and what his signings are before I get too cocky about our chances of finishing significantly higher than Plymouth.

We're currently a club of significantly bigger and better stature than them, but it wouldn't take a huge amount to reverse those roles at this stage.

The whole year inn I cant see much wrong with the opening post TBF, we will struggle now Coppell has gone

This from the poster who, a while back said...

The whole year inn He is the bad apple in this club and needs to go.

Only decent performance in the last 12 weeks was down to his backroom staff picking the side.

Too many people look back at his promotion year.

How odd.

T-Rex Coppell leaving could break you as a club.

I agree and it's sad when opposition fans can see the reality more clearly than some Reading fans.

We could well have a relegation battle on our hands. I always said Coppell going for whatever reason would be the biggest tragedy for RFC but too many of us think we're invincible and have been lulled into the security that Coppell has shown us. Him leaving might show us up for what we are.

But then I've always had my head up his backside and maybe I'm overestimating the role of Coppell and maybe the truth is we're a big enough club now with a good enough infrastructure to get someone reasonably good in who'll do the same job. Maybe he was the icing on the cake and nothing more. There may well be plenty more where that came from.

I hope we're wrong.

There is zero chance that Coppell leaving will 'break' us as a club, in much the same way that Coppell arriving didn't 'make' us as a club.

The important thing is who the next manager is, not who the last one was.

And LOL at someone who thinks that an 'average' team is one that finishes in the bottom six !

Average teams by definition finish mid table. Poor teams finish in the bottom 6.

We'll not finish in the bottom 6.

It is pretty down here but the Locals!!!! Dont get me started. When I moved down my, new neighbours asked me " Are you from up country?" There is Devon and Cornwall and the big bad world. Devonians just don't understand ANYTHING. I was also asked if I had been to London, as if it were some magical kindom. I said no, but I have heard of it. That too went over their heads too.
Just ignore this silly thread and laugh at them. I sat with the Plymouth fans down here to save a tenner. it was an eye opener especially when we had a player injured in front of a group of beying idiots.

Rise above it and holiday here :D

wow! we all fell for this didn't we?!

Lets go onto the Plymouth board and post a topic "you are all unbred toss pots who support a no-mark team" and see if there is a meaningful debate that ensues as to whether Mathias Doumbe stays

:P

T-Rex Coppell leaving could break you as a club.

I'm in no positive, happy clappy zone about Argyle's prospects, but I certainly expect to see you lot down with us in the bottom 6 next year.

To be fair, you're a really average club at any level.

Up until a few seasons ago, despite misgivings, I would have had to agree with you. We'd had a brief moment of near fame in 94-95 and we'd yo-yo'd between the old second and third divisions in the intervening years. But we've come a long way since then and travelled the path that teams like Plymouth can only dream of right now. And let me ask you this - if the Plymouth manager's job came up tomorrow, who'd be applying? Not many gifted/ambitious managers I'd guess. In the meantime we're seen as a hot ticket in town with (supposedly, I admit) 100+ applications from any number of managers that want to get into what's perceived within the game as a good place to be. I'd personally like to see Brendan Rodgers here because he understands what we are from his time at the club running the academy that is finally starting to produce players, the respect that he has from those who know more about the game than me (a certain Mr Mourinho poached him off of us) and the fact that he's earning accolades for what he's been doing managing Watford the past season. So who would be the replacement manager for Plymouth?

t rex is only stating that we will be down with them coz he worried we might get tisdale as our next manager. after all exeter are plymouths biggest rivals along with torquay who will all be in league one together next season.

look at sturrock hes a waste of time as a manager. he took over after holloway for the second time and Argyle were playing ok and were around the top 6. sturrock was worried about them being better then what they were as he cant handle a team above mid table in the championship.

T Rex just wishes they had a decent manager thats got the balls to take them further

Pfffft. It's more likely that Plymouth will be in a relegation battle next year. I mean, they were so lucky to hold us to a draw at their dump of a ground.
