Dirk Gently Completely and absolutely not - it makes perfect sense for him.
He's obviously jaded here and needs a new challenge and a complete change of scenery - I've been in that situation at work a few times and when it gets to that the only way is to change jobs.
Wolves play in a similar way to us (when we were good), with fast-breaking wingers which is a style which obviously suits KD.
It's a world cup year so he obviously wants to play as much as possible - at one of the "less-established" PL clubs he'd be a bigger fish in a smaller pond, and get far more games than he would at somewhere like Villa or Everton.
Good luck, Kevin, and thanks for everything - but all good times must come to an end.

Well said Dirk, agree 100%.

Harry Carry Why would he be stupid? A bigger club, Prem football, more money. Thread over.

Vision Its a World Cup year which may also have a bearing. In that sense playing week in week out for Wolves may be better than sitting on a bench at Villa or Everton.

gazzer, loyal royal as i said on the rumour thread, there is nother club that have triggered the release clause.
Doyle is more interested in going to this other club, the reason not to go to Wolves is if he can't agree terms with the other club
(yes, i know who the other club is, but can't say)

The Express and Star Doyle mentor backs Wolves’ move
Kevin Doyle has been told he will “improve immensely” in joining Wolves – by the man who launched his international career.
The Premier League new boys have held talks with the Reading striker, who would cost a club-record £6.5million.
But they are braced for a battle to land the Republic of Ireland international with the Royals still expecting plenty of interest in him, although early indications suggest Bolton aren’t one of the potential suitors - as reported elsewhere.
One of Doyle’s mentors, Steve Staunton – who has been scouting for Wolves – believes Molineux would be the ideal place to continue his career under boss Mick McCarthy.
The former Republic of Ireland coach and Walsall assistant boss has placed his faith in the player before, he gave him his first cap in his first game in charge of the national team, a 3-0 win against Sweden in March 2006.

Ian Royal There are people on HNA with sources, Gazzer may well be one. And if something got back to the club that could lead to an employee or relative of an employee leaking information then there could be serious repercussions for that person.
A guy I work with's brother does a lot of football charity work and knows a lot of players and other people in the game. No doubt he has all sorts of choice bits and pieces he picks up, but if he lets slip and it gets out then he can kiss a lot of his contacts goodbye.
