SSC's major source of goals was from out wide and quite frankly, we dont have the weaponry at our disposal to cause havoc. One of the biggest complaints of SSC's reign was a lack of Plan B. Hopefully, The Chosen One will have the technical nous and confidence in the tools at his disposal to come up with an all signing, all dancing weapon of mass destruction that completely buttfucks the oppo.

America, Fuck Yeah!

rhroyal Harper brought the best out of Sidwell and played an important defensive role in midfield. Then Sidwell left. Harper looked lost. He had forgotten how to get forward and attack and create.

Harper had one of his best (if not best) goalscoring returns in 07/08 (goals against Liverpool, Portsmouth, and winners at Boro and against Wigan).

I will be the 1st to say Harps has served us well over the years but as for him having a fresh crack at starting in the centre i just dont think it is the way forward. It is time for marek to be given a long run in the team and i just cant see harps and marek working.

I'm not sure some of the analysis is quite right. Harper complemented Sidwell not becasue Sidwell was attacking and Harper stayed back, but because Sidwell was a great box-to-boxer (at this level) and Harper had the engine and the nous to cover for him wherever he was. He's also adept at playing simple balls to the wingers and letting them do thier thing. What he isn't is a player who can take the lead role, and that's what we've needed since Sidwell left and our wingers have gone to shit. He's an excelent water-carrier, doing somple things well and having the energy and stamina to cover a huge amount of ground. In that capacity, he's definitely a Premiership quality player when surrounded by the right cast, so my hope is BR puts the cast together. Haprs will play his role.

As Arch says, with the right players around him, he's the fulcrum. That's why he is more noticeable when he is out of the team than when he is in.

You forgot, I've had several years as a lecturer now. Frankly, that was rather legible, compared to some of the nonsense my students have handed in over the years.

I could read it too. And agree with the sentiment.

But then I used to be the sort of student who'd hand in work full of typos so that may explain it.

Hang on, didn't your course just involve standing around pretending to be a tree?

I never once pretended to be a tree. I did Drama not Performing Arts thank you very much. I had to do essays and everything. Even the poncy ones didn't pretend to be trees (alright they did, but only once in the first year, I sneered at them).

IIRC it was the most practical based drama degree in the country, split 50/50 between theory and practice. Modules like 18th Century Visual Art, Victorian Erethism and Ethos, Dramaturgy.

I had to read bloody books. Books I tell you!
