Oh dear, the first kit I saw was 1957-58. Crikey, I'm surprised I can still remember anything at my age!

My favourite has always been the very "italian looking" stripes 0f 1983 -84.

First saw - First memory and therefore first kit was Simod winning yellow kit. Still love it, and would love to see a similar one made one year.

First bought - 95 play-off final. My old dear treated all four of us to home shirts. Mine has Archie on the back.

Last home bought (and only shirt I've ever bought) - Premiership shirt for the first season there. Purely for the occasion. Now signed by all the team and framed.

66 was the first one, but they dropped the white trim and socks to go entirely all sky blue. My fave is still 92, when they bought back the hoops after a long absence.

I bought a replica 81/82 shirt from the Reading megastore a few years ago, but I've lost it.
I'd love another, I wonder if they'd remake it if I promised to be more careful this time....

69-74 was my initiation. I actually got a Reading shirt (76/77) as a Christmas present from Eddlestone's way back but no guarantee it was the genuine article. Favourite has to be 78/79 by Bukta. Absolutely hated the Osca made abortion of a shirt from 82/3.

When I first went to Elm Park in 1968 they were playing in the light blue Man City type kit but the narrow hoops shirt brought back in 1969 has always been my favourite and still is. In those days you couldn't buy replica kit for teams outside the top flight.

You must be as old as me!
Indeed- the decision of Jack Mansell to re-introduce the hoops was one of his best.

69-74 is the best kit IMO. Although the current Waitrose sponsored top is one that I like a lot. The 69-74 kit plus all the kits in the 70's didn't stray far from the hoops all the way round, white shorts and white socks. For a decade plus Reading stuck to basically the same kit. That's probably why I like the current top because from the front it's almost a throw back to the 70's.

1965 - 1969, which was all sky blue for most of that period (rather than the white socks shown in the picture), as Ark Royal rightly observes.
You didn't get replica kits back in those days and my Mum had just finished knitting me a sky blue jumper when we switched backed to the hoops
