If the Newcastle team were to play to their full potential we'd expect to lose 3-0 or 4-0

They have loads of class but it depends on whether it comes together, they get an early goal have the crowd behind them, we could get walloped

or we play well retain the ball and it's 0-0 after 30 minutes (or better still we scored early), the crowd are on their back...

I remember sitting in a pub with a Birmingham fan Xmas time and saying, "It could be 3-0 either way.."

This one feels like that, but if I have to stick my neck out I'd say we can nick it 1-0 Long as sub scoring in the 75th minute

We'll pass nicely and this will be mentioned approvingly by the Sky commentators who will also stress that our team is all kids. Newcastle won't score straightaway and their fans will get restless. Just as they start moaning about a lack of end product, Davies will score with a late 30-yard screamer and we will nick the points.

We will win this one.

Newcastle are in turmoil. They lost a pre season game 6-1 a few weeks back and had their full side out.

They have no manager, even Joe Kinnear turned down a 2 year deal! they have no leadership from up above.

They hate their owner Mike Ashley, and if he is in the stands on Saturday the fans aren't going to be in a good mood.

I feel our possesion game could frustrate the hell out of them, and their fans will get on their backs very quickly.

I dont think the kids will be overawed, in fact i think they will thrive under little pressure. More gaps to plug passes away from home, and i feel our pace and hunger could get us a win here.

Newcastle 1 Reading 3

To a massive chorus of boos.

I may even put my neck on the line to say we could score more under the circumstances surrounding Newcastle if we score early.

Could this be a similar episode to Norwich - Colchester?...... Class doesnt always guarantee a win. Half their squad dont want to be there!

The kids will freeze in front of a big crowd and cameras. 4-0 the Toon.

If we can keep a clean sheet for the first 25 minutes, we are in with a chance of taking a point from the game. But if Newcastle get a goal in that period, the crowd and the atmosphere in that stadium may prove overwhelming for our young team and we could go down by three.

Toon win.

They played very well against WBA, and its too big a game for our relativly inexperienced team.

I think a draw tomorrow would be a very satisfactory result.

Reading 4 - Newcastle 1

A right royal thrashing as Brendan's Babes show they are ready for prime time.

Behave everyone.

Duff, Nolan, Taylor, Barton (spit) - all far too good for this league, they have an Argentina international on their books ffs! We have a load of promising kids, which is all most of us expected from this season and so we shouldn't be too disheartened with the result.

3-0 (Duff 8, Nolan 21, and 50)

Newcastle got hammered 6-1 by leyton orient a few weeks back, and all there top players played a part in that game. The club is in a terrible state all over the place, and the majority of their players want to leave, and are predictably lacking in confidence. On paper Newcastle's squad statistically lacks goals and have no one who is prolific and is proven to score goals on a consistent basis. 2-1 Reading win ^_^
