....or did anyone else, after looking at us bottom of the league, and witnessing another poor performance, think.....ah.....it's just like the good old days?

Gone are the premiership years (for a good while anyway) and here are the years of worry with the constant threat that we could quite easily be relegated.
We didn't have that fear before last season because we knew the squad was fine. But here we are out of the comfort zone once more.

I do have a slight feeling of impending doom, I have to be honest. If you look at the squad from last season, and the one from the start of this, its apples and oranges, and I don't see any huge improvement before the window closes. We have downgraded as a club, from the manager down.

I kinda enjoyed the old days, 'you support who?!' and nights in Grimsby, Bury et al. I so, so badly want to be wrong. I just have a feeling I'm not.......

You must be gutted we moved up four places last night after getting a point and another away game out of the way.

I enjoyed "the old days", but only at elm park. The madejski is a horrible ground to be in when there's a small crowd. It feels so empty.

Ok.... 3 games in and it's moan moan moan, heads should roll and all that other crap.

I think we have been an extremely lucky set of fans, as can somebody remember back to when we didn't have somethoing to be happy about or anything to fight for on the last day of the season, whether it be crowning as champions, auto promotion, play offs, European place or even the recent relegation.

Looking back over the last 8 seasons we have had at least one of those things to enjoy/ fight for on the last day. How boring it would be to be a middle of the table team.

Anyhow, I think Brenda has a cunning plan that may rely on us actually being better in the second half of the season compared to the first half unlike 5 of the last 6 seasons so we may have some momentum at crunch time.

Ideally you want consistency, but arguably the team wasnt complete when the season started and still isn't now. hence the poor start.

Elliot, I would love nothing more, seriously. I just think that in amongst the RTG's, and the moaners, there is a middle ground of experienced, time served types who can just start to sense that this situation isn't looking all that promising, compared solely to the last 7 years. I will support, totally, 100% without reservation, won't be screaming for heads, and will be happy to give BR time (he started slowly at Watford) but I do have doubts.

was never really comfortable with the last 4 years of relative success
always felt bizzarre, like i was in a dream.

yes, the league table makes me much more comfortable now
this is why i support reading in the 1st place

for the moaning and a whingeing, and the gallows humour etc

I honestly can say that at the moment I am not worried!! I can't understand why people are looking at our position in the table and worrying... we're only 3 games in to the season - 2 of which have been away games!! Maybe if we were 19th after 10 games in I'd be worried!! I know we need to improve the squad especially up front but I have faith in Brendan and his team and I plan on enjoying this season and watching the young talent that we have improve game by game!
