Having watched Reading from Friday evening football at Elm Park , through all the divisions, up as well as down, then to the Premiership, .....no i dont miss it at all , am lucky to have seen the top flight in my stadium, loved it when the big clubs came to us.
The Championship is a fine division, probably the most competitive in English football with arguably the biggest prize of all, bring it on!

Don,t miss it at all. Glad to have seen it in my lifetime, but too many prima-donna,s and ideas above our station. we were never going to compete in my oppinion. the championship is"real football" mainly played on saturdays with traditional kick off times. i,d be happy to see us competing in the top half of this division ,so long as i,ve been entertained with good football .....(just my oppinion though folks!!)

Is there any reason you use commas instead of apostrophes?

Over the weekend, Sky interviewed Kevin Davies ahead of the Liverpool match. The interviewer made a statement such as "...Bolton not expected to win..." to which Davies had a strong and negative reaction showing frustration as to why the media just expect Bolton to roll over and lose at home. That's the EPL in a nutshell.

I personally find the idea of having a chance to win week-in and week-out to be more palatable than just hoping to avoid relegation (notwithstanding the view by some that we're currently in that battle now).

As a Yank, I really like the idea of promotion/relegation. It adds to the excitement. But the EPL sorely lacks real competition that the C'ship provides. I am glad that ManCity is attempting to challenge the hegemony of the "top 4".

It's not that I'd love to see Premiership football again, it's that I'd love to see us win promotion again.

Not really.

I'll echo Para Handys excellent post that I miss EP far more. £5 to get in, a quick walk up from Oxford Road or Prospect Park depending on where I was coming from and an atmosphere, even in the bad old days after Wembley, that was second to none. Sure the football was shocking but it felt more real and you could associate yourself with the team, the players and the opposition more.

There were some great EPL moments (that goal at West Ham being one already mentioned - it was oxf*rd wet!) topped off with seeing us play Liverpool in the league at Anfield; something I'd always wanted to see but never thought would happen. Just a shame the game was a snore-fest. In fact that game summed up much of the attitude from the big clubs that made the experiences never match expectation. To be fair you can't blame them; the supporters are used to playing big teams across Europe so why would they give a toss about a "small" town from Berkshire?

Well now I miss it, we're being embarrassed by QPR instead of Arsenal.

I just regret missing that Liverpool game!

I miss the hype of the Premiership, seeing us regularly on MOTD.

What I do miss is seeing my team win at home and score a few goals..................

I do miss it, especially seeing stars like Ronaldo at the Madejski, and all the attention on Match of the Day. But I don't miss it the way a Coventry, Leeds, Notts Forest fan must miss it, because it was a brief period of fantasy after supporting Reading in the lower leagues for decades. For me, the Championship is still heady heights, and I will be much more gutted if we get relegated to the third tier.

I miss the genuine buzz of a team up against it and not expecting a win.

I wouldnt disagree... I enjoyed playing Villa & Everton the most... at the end of the day, a good tight game. We came out playing out of our skins, and anything could happen. At the moment its predictable. I expect a loss every single week and its a pleasant suprise if we dont get beat. In the Prem... I never felt like this

TBM As the title says?

Watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGBCq2Ps51Q made me kinda sad that we wont be there for a while yet

the problem is we got there by a fluke, coppell got us there against all the odds with what was at the time a rag bag bunch of players. JM never in a million years thought all his rhetoric and spin would actually be put to the test and when it was he got found out for the non football chairman he is. we have to accept that JM didnt want premier league football, hadnt planned for it and wasnt prepared to take a flyer. he runs RFC ltd as a business not as a life long love.

until we get a chairman from the RG postcode that loves the club like we do we will have to resign ourselves to the premiership years being the greatest time of our RFC supporting lives, be thankful that it happened and remember that other normal fans like us have never had the pleasure of watching the love of their lives performing at the highest level.

better to have loved etc.

Of course Madejski wanted promotion to the premier. He just wanted it on the cheap, that's all.

Coppell's promotion was not an isolated fluke. We came second in this league before and failed to go up because only one went up automatically that year and because we lost the playoff final against Bolton. And we've been in the playoffs on other occasions.

I don't think it was a fluke at all.
Look at the players we had then who are now playing in The Premiership:-
Doyle
Kitson
Sidwell
Shorey
Bikey
Sonko
Halford
Marcus
Hunt
Not all of them play every game but they are all Premiership squad players.
Yes,I do miss The Premiership and think that the club (mainly through arrogance) threw it away without a wimper and I envied Fulham (our equals a couple of years ago) playing before a packed house v Roma the other night and being seconds away from beating them.
