PlasticRoyale Before it was more of a choice between who was best for the position (2 from Doyle, Lita, Kitson or 2 from Gunnar, Sidwell, Harper) know it seems like lets pick who's going to feck it up the least

Not for me. But if you want to be a tediously negative pcunt then fair enough.

Nothing to do with being negative I just don't see consistent performances (you cunt)

strap To be fair, that's what you end with when you panic buy in the bargain basement.

IF there was a grand strategy this window, (other than ship anyone out with any experience and only get people in who can be paid weekly in loose change), it is not immediately obvious.

But then BR is special so it's probably no wonder that we mere mortals have no idea what his plans are.

In all seriousness, this might be a case of adopting one of SSC's strategies, and bed the new signings in in a couple of reserve friendlies. Or is BR saying the Academy lads thrown in at the deep end are suddenly not up to job? Anyway, some plusses :

Rasiak at 6'3" adds something diferent, (but hopefully no more aimless balls lumped forward for the big man to get his nut onto please!)
Howard would suggest we now have someone in midfield who can actually tackle
No idea behind the thinking of replacing BOTH full backs, (with a wealth of experience), with kids who ... well, haven't! Could be very exciting .... or very worrying! Not sure I understand BRs assessment that they are "modern" full backs. Anyone got any thougts on that?

Some misgivings:
McAnuff I fear has opinions of himself that are far in advance of his actual abilites - his career path to date suggest that to me anyway, (as evidenced by any number of Sham fans BTW). Also, I would guess his wages wouldn't be insignificant - so why buy him? Because the fans were getting restless and Mr Mad and Squeaky needed someone to appease them?
Why has O'Dea been signed - given only until end Dec, must be as cover for Ingimarsson?

Anyway - absolutely NO idea what the team will be v Doncastor, except of course that the non-footballing winger will be the first name of the team sheet. But what it does mean is that I'll be there to see it. Not often you put down Doncastor at home as a must see game, but it is now!

Back with more illogical rantings soon .....

Yawn, yawn, yawn, Who the hell are Doncastor? Yawn.

I actually don't know what our strongest team is because we have so many options in midfield and in the attacking third.

Right...so who is captain? ......No obvious candidates in your starting eleven Alex!

Yeah I was thinking that but I do think that those 3 in midfield are probably the strongest. However there is a lack of leadership without Pearce, Bryn and Ingi. I'd give it to Noel. I think he could be a good captain.

I agree with you on the number of midfield options but I dont see where you are coming from regarding attacking options. Long is an enigma and Mooney will probably need a plague of biblical proportions. Rasiak and Hunt could be interesting but, as always, depends on the quality of the supply.

Wasn't Howard Barnsley captain?

To be honest the second people start talking bout their not being a strict starting 11 you have to really worry.

You never, ever want to hear those words at this level.

I'm sure Buck knows what he wants.

We all said it needed change, it's certainly been that. I worry it's too much too soon, we'll find out one way or the other,

Really tough this one. Our first team squad of about 19 is superb.

(4-1-3-2)

Federici

Cummings
Mills
O'Dea
Bertrand (Armstrong when fit)

Gunnarsson (or Karacan)
Matejovsky
Howard
Tabb

Hunt
Rasiak

Subs:
Hamer
Kebe
Sigurdsson
McAnuff
Pearce
Long
Karacan/Gunnarsson

No place (yet!) for HRK, Davies, Church, or Henry. I'm sure they would find a way in with injuries. Plus there's Armstrong and Ingemarsson of course!

We've got 4 strikers competing for what will probably be 1 central striking position - 2 of which being very proven at this level in N Hunt and Rasiak with the other 2 being excellent impact players to have about and having a point to prove. Then we have McAnuff, Robson-Kanu, Davies, Sigurdsson, Matejovsky, Howard, Antonio, Kebe and Henry all competing for the other 3 positions!

I sense two or three of these remaining players may go out on loan until January to keep them up to speed

Could do I guess - exciting times either way. Probably a blessing for us that they've upped the number of subs you can select to 7 this year!

But this now means there are 4 players getting splinters instead of 2. Those other 2 would be better off on loan somewhere.

but just think how much of an advantage it'll be in the next few games that the opposition will equally have no idea who will play and it what system!

Mr Angry
FWIW - my team would be the following:

Fed

Cummings - O'Dea - Pearce - Betrand

Gunnar

Sig - Karacan - Kebe

Rasiak - NHunt

Mine, too.

Just because BR has signed some senior players doesn't mean they are all nailed on to start ..................we did win the last match, after all.

Our problems have been in the final third whereas Siggy and Karacan have been very good so far in the centre. Whoever gets their places should expect to work for them.

On the other hand, we clearly need Rasiak now with only Hunt have any claim to some form at the sharp end.
