But you got your +1 anyway.

Fwiw, it's nice to see the ball passed about. I like it!

BUT, the formation doesn't work. We lack width and we need two up front.

i like keeping the ball on the floor, and players moving off the ball, but think that playing 4-5-1 kind of contradicts this style of play.

every time i see 4-5-1 being played there are never enough attacking options and usually a lone strike, where however good he may be he just doesnt get the support he needs. for example i like noel hunt and i thought he played well with doyle as hes intelligent and good at flick ons but on his own hes got no chance.

We didn't really play much passing football yesterday tbh. When we were on the ball we looked scrappy.

Indeed, the irony is that people are being critical of us yesterday, but it's the closest to Copell's 'style' we've played all season and probably the worst we've played.

Maybe we can pass the ball to the front rather than just hoof it up there? That would be nice.

Attacking wingers with 2 strikers up front.

I would rather see us play attacking football and entertain regardless of the result than see a bore draw possesional match.

Brenda needs to rethink his strategy of play before it is too late as we are not a Chelsea or Man Utd who have quality players who can play in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 systems.

Time to get back to the basics with 4-4-2 system.

You dont have to play one or t'other. The style of play can be varied throughout the course of a game depending upon what best suits.

winchester_royal Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, and Liverpool >>>>>>> Bolton and Blackburn

Players of them >>>>>>>> the players of Reading. Rodgers realised at Watford that the passing style of play was not working so well and became more direct. It worked. I have faith that he is a good enough manager to do the same here.

Watford may have become more direct, but not totally so, and still a long way better than Hoofroyd's stuff.

It will take time to find a balance, we all know that.

LOL at your persistant BS against Coppell. The very same style that won us the Championship with a record breaking 106 points with 99 goals. The very same style that led us to an 8th place PREMIER LEAGUE finish.

How many players are still left in our squad from that era?

The same style which got us relegated and gave us relegation form for the second half of last season.

I think our style changed under SC in the last 18 months - not for the better, as we supported less from midfield and had the centre forwards come out wide too often. When at it's best the style worked really well. Even on a bad day we woudl always create more chances than we are just now.

LOL - Royalee, keep sticking your head above the parapet son!

The simple fact is the 'Rodgers Revolution' has turned into a very damp squib and most fans (apart from you of course) are realising that Coppell's way was the better way by far and personally, I fear BR is fast turning into TB3.

106 points - 99 goals - can this team achieve that - with BR in charge, I think not!

But you keep arguing sunshine!

Not sure what style of play Rodgers prefers after yesterday. I thought Coppell was back in charge!
It was hoofball from the start, ironic that we have reverted to this after signing Howard who has stated that our 'passing style' suited him and its one reason why he came.
Rodgers needs to decide what style he wants to play,no wonder the players looked confused!

our best style of football was under McGee, a little bit of everything.

Bullivant out.
