Of course it's Steve Coppell, but second place would go to Maurice Evans imo. He also had the nouse to sign up some great players who went on to do well and earn the club a few bob in transfer fees. Plus, he was a lovely man, and a gentleman, just like SC.

Where as some managers seem to have a noose ;)

To be fair, most of the managers have had jackshit money to play with. I wonder where we'd be know had, for example, Bentley or Hurley be given a few million. (in real terms)

"Probably where we are now" comes the murmer from the 15000 crowd.

My Top 5

1. Steve Coppell
2. Mark McGhee
3. Alan Pardew
4. Maurice Evans
5. Ted Drake

For the record I think that if Maurice Evans had been given the chance, instead of Ian Branfoot, then he'd have taken us higher and for longer...

No question, it's Steve Coppell.

His achievements would take some beating.

What has Alan Pardew done for the club. Mick Gooding and Jimmy Quinn did more.

Your still going on about the 106 points season to win an arguement? Jeeez, there is a time and a place, and thats rubbing it in to rivals faces, not going on about it over and over and over again
