Its not the team selection thats "relegation fodder" its the tactis. Hit and hope hoof balls from defence will only end with league 1 football next season.

I fully agree mate. There are too many knob jockeys on here that need to get real. Anyone that half understands football can see that Rodgers s starting from scratch and previous seasons mean nothing and instant success is not going to happen. Rodgers has a very difficult job, as we have SOld all of our top players and cut the budget. If they want instant success they should go back to Stamford bridge. We need proper fans not the glory hunting fair weather c@nts that have latched onto our successes.

This year is about regrouping and starting again, if you don't like it see you in a couple years.

Well played today - we will be successful very soon.

which'll soon only be 12 games, only 15 games, only 20 games, oh fcuk half the season's gone.

The 9 games played we've not had that many really tough fixtures yet failed. It shows how far we've come, (not in a good way) that games with Cardiff and the like we are now rank 2nd favourites for, a club we stuck 10 past in 2 games the last time we frequented this division.

Reading played some good stuff for the first half today but just uttelry collapsed in the second half, due to Rodgers pointless substitutions and panic swaps when they scored. Reading have serious frailties throughout the team that put simply no team that wants to be succesful can afford the luxury of having. They've got an inexperienced inconsistant goalkeeper, a young defence and a midfield that changes on the weekly. They must have also signed the worlds worst 'target man' in Rasiak. I thought he did ok today, scored the goal, but i've rarely seen someone so big be so toilet in the air.

I'm not convinced on Rodgers to be honest, an easy option for Madejski to take in the first place, a man who complicates things when they don't have to be and so far his record is probably one of the worst from a new RFC manager ever. I fear for Reading, the next 3 games will be extremely tough and if we take a few beatings then the confidence will be shot.

“It’s a thing about confidence at the moment. We go up in the game and then we sort of relax and let teams saunter back into it."

Why are we relaxing when we haven't won at home since Jan 27th FFS!!

“We’re working very very hard, we just need to get a couple of wins under our belts and the confidence will rise."

It's ok getting a couple of wins but need the first one, can't see when that will be. I am steadly loosing my patience with Buck.

Basingstoke Royal ...Well played today - we will be successful very soon...

And how long do you give BR? Define "very soon".

And what if we aren't successful after another 2 or 3 games? Can we sack him then? Because if we keep saying "soon" then all of a sudden its January and we're cut adrift at the foot of the table. Trouble is, I think BR is a very arrogant man and won't walk away, it'll be down to JM to sack him. And he won't rush that decision, and with this shortsightedness will undo all our growth and improvement of the last 7-8 years and we'll find ourselves in the 3rd tier again and wondering what the oxf*rd happened. Yes, give BR a chance, but don't gamble our future on it.

Get it sorted by the end of October or get the oxf*rd out of my club.

Nice to see you back AP. Some quality points. Am off to Preston - expect to see a beating but you never know.

At least we can't predict what's coming anymore. Apart from no home wins!

I'm sick and tired of people on here thinking that if you dare to criticise the manager etc, you're a plastic or a fairweather fan. Between us Schards and I have been going to watch RFC for nigh on 70 years *- and the reason we are being critical is because we hope something will be done to stop the rot before we slide into obscurity. All the good that has been done in the past, which took us 130 odd years to achieve is being undone in the space of 2 years. You can have blind faith and optimism if you want, but don't you dare wish ill on people who feel the need to criticise , or label them as plastic/fairweather, when, in actual fact, they care very much about the team and probably too much in many cases.

* 28 years for me, about 38 for Schards

Rodgers lacks experience in management and it shows big time.

Whether it is 4 games 9 or 15 we are a club destined for league 1 unless changes are made quickly.

Worst football times at RFC since the management era of Tommy Burns..

In my honest and humble opinion, and admittedly I went to more games back then, there were more chinks of light under Burns' reign than we've seen so far with Rodgers.

I just hope and pray that the knee jerk, fair weather, loser RFC fans on Hobnob are not a true reflection of the whole fan base.

Why cannot you moaning whinging lot see that Rodgers has had an all but impossible job to do. Through no fault of his we have had to sell the bulk of our remaining PL team players and it will take time - probably years - to rebuild. Yes it is disappointing but it is NOT the manager's fault. Any blame (if there is any) lies squarely with the owner who has rightly or wrongly said that he is not prepared to put any more money in the club.

Whoever followed Coppell was going to have a hard task and we must give Rodgers at least half a season. If we are showing no improvement by the end of December then I think it would be fair to ask questions but Rodgers deserves 23 games.

And if any of you believe that someone like Alan Curbishley is going to be willing to work within the current budget constraints you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

If you are true RFC fans just get behind the players and the manager and let us see where we are at the half season before whining and moaning incessantly - it is getting really boring.

I'd be interested to see the quotes where SJM has said this.

One thing for all the Coppel haters to remember is that a team consisting of the much derided Hughes, Goater, Owusu, Morgan and Newman managed to finish 7th in this league. Now we have a team with the youngsters in that many on here were clamouring to play, managed by someone many were calling to be appointed part-way through last season.

As with all things - including the calls for Rogers to be sacked - be careful what you wish for.

if we wait half a season there is hardly time to recruit a replacement before the window closes, let alone allow him to asssess the squad and try and bring in what he needs

after the swansea game some of us recognised problems (game 4, 3 leagaue and 1 cup). one win agaisnt Burton albion in the league cup. We told "he heends more time, give him 10 to 15 games.
we pointed out our record signing was a liability, we were told he hd only played a couple of games and to give hime more time.

we are now at gamd 11 (9 league and 2 cup). our next four games are preston away, boro at home, west brom away and QPR away. I hope to be proven wrong but I do not see a huge points haul from that lot. That will take us to a total of 15 games (13 league and 2 cup).

Our multi million pound signing has hardly started a game, our vice captain has been dropped and wasn't even on the bench in our latest encounter.

We are still being told he needs time and now being asked to give him half a season. If we do that, lets hope Ipswich don't sack Keano and steal a march on us.

The only reassuing thing is that this time last season the bottom 4 was

Watford
Doncaster
Barnsley
Forest

how many of this lot changed their manager before the end of the season?

Norwich were 19th, Charlton 17th and Southampton 16th

If we're going to get in a new manager he has to have not only the transfer window to sign players where we need them, but also have time to evaluate the squad before that window opens, or he'll be making guesses or left with what's left at the end.

That means Rodgers has to go by early December at the latest, preferably November, if we want a new manager to come in and save us that is. Of course assuming that Rodgers can't turn it around himself.

RODGERS OUT + COPPELL IN = RFC CHAMP STATUS SECURE!

I will foretell - and again, feel free to bring this post back up if I'm wrong - with this clown in charge we will be VERY lucky not to get relegated.

just a thought - if it is true that SJM is not putting money in anymore how are we going to sign players in January? I'm not sure if its true but if it is...
