Delighted and really hope that BR will go on to prove all the doubters wrong on here. Can't believe that some still manage to come out with negative comments like "Why are we so shit in the second half?" We've just gone and beaten a team that is one of theeeee in form teams, who have not lost at home for ages - and we still get some negative bleating. What do you expect - the second half was going to be a stroll in the park?

Well done BR and the boys! Well done Kebe! Well done Church! Well done Fed - there are some who believe in you guys and didn't write you off after a few defeats early on in the season!

COME ON URRRRRZZZZZZZ!

Terminal Boardom And all the RTGs come crawling out of the woodwork bleating and waving their big watches and tank tops in the air. Typical geeky keyboard warriors. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

They come out the woodwork as quicky as the STGs do when we lose to be fair.

There is still something seriously wrong with our fitness.

Did not BR say before the season he did more ball work in training than pure fitness?

It is showing if true.

Wizard Middlesbrough looking shaky. Result tonight may have just made my decision for Saturday.

I hope you are not referring to whether you turn up on saturday. If you are then you are the lowest form of low.

Any real Royals fan knows that we are going through a period of rebuilding and what we need is unconditional support not the sort of pathetic feeble winning only support that the likes of you like to provide.

Get lost and support chelsea.

There are also some who predicted a corner had been turned after the Barnsley game and they were wrong. Just as the team shouldn't be written off after losing a few games don't get carried away over one win.

As I said, I'm happy we won, but we can't think because of one win that everything is all fine and dandy again. Our second half performance was still bad and we definitely need to improve in that area. We can be happy with the win tonight, but as Y21 said, one swallow doesn't make a summer.

True but beating Barnsley and Preston are two different things. Also, we've generally been playing better recently and also scoring goals. Just think it's a confidence thing .... really hope so anyway.

Thinking about the last few games - tell me one where we've been really outplayed? All I can think of this season is Newcastle and possibly Swansea. Sheff United was fairly even. Cardiff same. Watford and Donny as well. We've just lacked confidence in the final third - and hopefully a game like this and scoring goals more regularly will make the difference.

And Winchester... Crack on son, happy to take a pasting after my rant.

I'm just happy with a win. Clearly we were hanging on a bit, but Preston are 3rd in the table, and we are very low on confidence so that was to be expected.

I agree with the sentiment just think we should be careful.

Me too - I've been vocal in my disdain for Rodgers - but a pat on the back for the young man tonight!

I'm a Reading fan - deep down to me, winning is all that matters.

SUPER JIMMY KEBE!!!!

Second halves appear to be a problem (hence the oft quoted stats from the BBC preview)

Is it lack of confidence, lack of luck, lack of fitness, poor substitutions, poor tactics or any of the above?

RoyalBird Glad we got a much needed win, but we do need to keep our feet on the ground. It's good to win at a fairly tough place, but we still got to concentrate and continue the momentum come saturday. Still worried about our second half performance as well, no point in getting a good start if you can't finish well. I do hope Rodgers doesn't tinker with the team unless necessary. Same formation, same team please.

Many on here constantly moaned that SC always put out the same team and now moan that Rodgers does not do so. I think in time we will see Rodgers tinkering as tactical know how. We shall see.

It is just a matter of confidence - if we start to win a few the confidence will come back and we will start to finish off games more comfortably.

Agree - lack confidence, simple. I really think having Ingi back in the team will start to bear fruit - him and O'Dea (although at fault for the Watford goal) could make a great pairing at the back.

Apologies Coronation. It was just that I'd left you out of the list of those that would be pissed off with a Reading win and felt you deserved to be included. Your contribution to the thread was, inspiring and insightful (may the Lord forgive me) as usual and left me with a semi-erection.
