Gylfi Sigurðsson nickname

by Alivey » 09 Oct 2009 12:57

I have been hearing many nicknames for Gylfi Sigurðsson, I think it is only fair that a democratic process is used to find out the best choice.

All right stop collaborate and listen
The Sig is back with his brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of him tightly
Shoots like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop yo I don't know
Turn on the floodlights and he'll glow
To the extreme he hits the net like a vandal
Light up the crowd and wax the defence like a candle
Has a goal rush as Tom Hark booms
He's killing the opposition like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly when he's through on the goalie
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it you better gain weight
You better hit bull's eye the Sig don't play
If there was a problem yo he'll solve it
Check out this free-kick while SG revolves it

Sig, Sig baby - repeat

Some say he has a complete collection of BJORK records and that he mysteriously disappears every Sunday to drive round in circles

But we only know him as the Sig

When you see him pick up the ball on the pitch, do you shout "Go on Siggy" or "Go on The Sig"? Siggy runs more naturally. I still prefer The Sig though.

Sig for me. Siggy is just plain lazy. Why not Siggers even though it is a fairly lazy and lame attempt.

The Sig, The Sig, The Sig is on fire!

Anyone else heard his interview on getting the Player of the Month award from The Post? Barely any hint of an accent, in fact he sounds much more like a proper RFC academy graduate than Darius Henderson ever did.

Yes. Heard Nigel Gibbs shouting at him with that pronounciation during a reserve game.

That interview blew my mind. I imagined Siggy to have a proper accent...
