rasiak, mills and mcanuff

by The Knitting Circle » 30 Oct 2009 13:38

if we had signed these players last season we'd be in the premiership right now.

they have been made to look like bad signings because they are playing with the yoof, where as last year with doyle, shunt, harper and bikey alongside them it would have been a different story.

Rasiak would be 4th choice striker at most last season!

As slightly mentioned before they wouldn't have even got into the team to begin with so its pretty much irrelevant anyway.

Bikey > Mills > Duberry.

Yet who did we have playing the majority of games after Christmas?

Mills will shine through when given a run of games with a constant partner in defense.
McAnuff has shown glimpses of what he can achieve and will probably get better as the team improves.
Rasiak... well. I'm sure he'll be ok backup.

For Rasiak to be ok as a backup suggests that there are strikers ahead of him in the pecking order. Shane ROFLong anyone???

McAnuff ain't bad. He's the only player who could have made a difference last season I think.

If we hadn't of given Shunt a new contract when we did we would be in the Premiership right now!

Compared to now, we had an extraordinary range of players available to us after January last season. On top pf Doyle, Hunt, and Lita, we also had Kitson and Little. At the back we still had Hahnemann and Bikey, but defence wasn't really the problem. If that forward line couldn't score, why would having McAnuff and Rasiak instead of Little and Kitson have made any difference?

Little was past it, and Kitson had issues. Both were fairly useless in their time here.

CORRECTION - secondary time.
Little - tertiary.
Mind you Kitson did score a few times.
