Just a bit of banter TBF. Don't let the PC brigade spoil it.

SteveRoyal I hope the guy inside fell over when he got undressed and broke his jaw.
Bloody cocky, cheeky... etc.

is he really touching Howard's face there, or is it a trick of the camera?

Trick of the camera. There was at least 3 ft distance.

Why isn't the other picture up? The one of the 'Ram' stood over Howard, the crowd behind him laughing and Federici laughing as well?

It was a bit stupid because you never know like in this case if it's a serious injury or not. With the amount of times players feign injury or are barely hurt at all, usually this incident would have been simply put to one side. Again it leads the story in the EP, well I suppose they've got to blame something for more toilet defending and throwing away another lead. Nice diversion.

Rammie

by AbingdonRoyal » 01 Dec 2009 13:59

After having gone to the Derby match, and after having one too many, I emailed Derby to complain about their mascot when Howard was injured. Below is the response I had from Derby today:

To all Derby County Supporters

30th November 2009

PERSONAL STATEMENT FROM ‘RAMMIE’ DERBY COUNTY CLUB MACOT

‘My actions on Saturday 28th November 2009 were wholly inappropriate and embarrassing to myself and Derby County Football Club. It was a spur of the moment action and at the time I did not have a comprehension of the severity of the incident or the extent of Brian Howard’s injury.

I can offer no further explanation other than to acknowledge that what I did was reckless and not within the spirit of the game. My remit at Derby County is to create an atmosphere inside the stadium focusing on the supporters. In no way am I encouraged to get involved in matters on the playing field and in doing so on Saturday I vastly overstepped the mark.

Under Nigel Clough’s management Derby County has an excellent record of fair play and sportsmanship and this is a philosophy that resonates throughout the club. Therefore, I feel I have let not just myself down, but the good name of Derby County also.

I hope this apology can go some way to repair the damage my actions have caused.

A separate, personal letter of apology has been sent to Brian Howard and to the Chief Executive of Reading Football Club.’

Yours sincerely

Richard Cutcher
(aka Rammie)

This is closure. Finally put an end to what some media have described as Ramsgate.

I think the only appropriate action now would be a public apology.

Can't see it happening though.

Derbyshire Royal
tombarlow Kinglseys shenanigans with the Royal Marines (or was it some Army chaps>) was funny also. The less said about the actual match the better.

I thought the way Kingsley took out those squaddies was exemplary. The Reading Crew should take note.

Was that the real Kingley or another Army geezer dressed up in the costume?

I remember a fair few years ago that a friend of mine (DCFC STH) commented that Rammie was all about winding people up. Considering the amount of play acting that can be seen up and down the country it is a tad sad that so many people are getting wound up over the actions of a bloke in a wooly suit. So for once a player was genuinely injured and Rammie has privately apologised both to Howard and to Reading FC. Why should he publicly apologise? Was it in the public domain? No. It was on private propery in front of a fee paying audience. Get over it!

Yes of course it was. Entry to the ground was available to any members of the general public who chose to pay the entry fee.

Pretty pathetic tbh. Clough has come out with an apology and that will probably be the end of it.

An apology should be the end of it really.

How many fans chant 'Sh*t on the floor' when an oppo player goes down injured?

I'd rather have this Rammie on the pitch instead of Howard. Over to you Mr Rodgers! (Cant be worse than Shaun Cummings!)
