Well if Brian scouted him (most likely) then I'd say it's a certainty he'll sign seeing as MaccyD will be in charge when the window opens.

First game he'd be eligible would be Liverpool.

The radio interviews today were suggesting that this is all but confirmed.

It would be madness to sign him and then not take the opportunity to give him a run out against Liverpool (especially as he's previously trained with the players and may already be training with them again iirc). Just hope people don't expect too much from him in that one game.

Having a decent option from the bench (one of him, Rasiak or Church) increases our attacking options massively. Howard and Armstrong on the way back could be well timed as well.

6 goals in the last three and a half years doesn't suggest he'll be a massive improvement.

He can't be worse than Long. In fact he must be considerably better seeing as I'm fast becoming convinced Long is the worst striker I've ever seen play for us. I include Keith Scott, Jimmy McIntyre and Paul Brayson in my thinking.

Long would have looked a decent striker for us in the lower two divisions. He's certainly not a Championship striker and doesn't have the ability to conjure up chances when he's playing with the similar sort of rubbish. However, (IMO) he's certainly not worse than the three you've just mentioned!

Especially given that McIntyre was actually a very decent player who happened to be used out of position for much of his time here.

Claiming Lomg is the worst striker to play for us ignores a whole list of worse players, of whom Brayson is clearly one (imagine how he would have looked in the Premiership, where Long scored goals ....)

McIntyre was an awful striker. He became a handy player once dropped back into midfield, where scoring isn't the main point of a players performance.

Brayson couldn't score for toffee, but IMO looked more of a player with more about him than Long does this season.

Long is worse than he has ever been this season. At least before he had pace and determination. He seems to have lost both of those things.

Exactly, he shouldn't be playing until we are. Then we can judge him as to where he ranks in terms of 'worst ever'.

we were when those three looked shit up front.

A player who'd probably be decent in the lower divisions is better than one who looked shit there.

At least with Long, we have seen that he is capable of more than we've seen of him this season. Brayson offered nothing, ever. One goal in 49 games, and that flattered him. He was as much use as Jade Goody's mum in an air-guitar contest.

Why the 4th? Doesn't the transfer window start on the 1st?

Yeah should be. Is that our next league game?! If so, I'm worried! Wouldnt have been good if he was available for Saturday.
