Wycombe Royal
Focher still not on OS or in the papers today, have the chronicle taken a bit of a flyer on this one??

In the Chonicle article McD confirmed it.

Royals caretaker boss Brian McDermott told the Chronicle: "We've signed Andy on loan for the rest of the season.

"He hasn't played much for Stoke City so he's been training to us and he looks good.

"He's a hungry, experienced right-back and he's done well at this level before when he captained Stoke to promotion to the Premier League.

"He's still only 30, he's a good age and it's a good signing for us."

Just in case any keyboard warriors get wound up AGAIN over other Nobbers suggesting that BM is not our permanent, long term manager.

LoyalRoyal22 As much as we need a decent right back, what a joke. Poor peice of business. Journeyman defender, how boring

Why do you describe him as a journeyman defender? How many clubs has he played for? As far as I know, he's played for Newcastle and Stoke.

EDIT: Checks soccerbase.com, he's actually played for another two clubs, Portsmouth and Derby. Still not sure if that actually makes him a journeyman.

He'll help sort out our defensive issue and help out Cummings and Kelly, too.

Rosenoir was exiled to save his high wages.
I wonder how much Rosenoirs wages compare with the combined wages of Griffin and Cummings? In other words are we now saving anything?

Anyway at least we now have an experienced right back. Lets hope the negative comments about him on here prove unfounded.

Local Journo in not knowing what he's talking about. All the press could refer to Ferguson as caretaker manager of Man Utd it wouldn't make him any less the actual manager.

I have never disliked a football shirt as much as that. Roll on the summer and another rip off Reading special home kit change.

Frankly, Rosenior was worse than terrible last season. In fact, we haven't had a solid RB since Murtys first season in the prem.

With Armstrong now fit again, the signing of Griffin means we have arguably 3 of the most experienced and successful players in this league available.

Given we currently have arguably the worst defence in the league at the moment, how anyone could be anything other than pleased with this signing is beyond me!

Gunnarsson can come in and have a good game, but hes no RB.

Very pleased with this. Even if he doesn't work out, he's a right back who knows what to do in that position and we can move away from square pegs and round holes. If he comes in and does a job it will be a great signing. As long as we haven't signed him to play up front of course...

I didn't realise he was only 30. The way some have reacted made me think he was around 33/34. This is a good signing and just what we need at a very critical time in our season. Now we need another goalscorer, and we might just start pulling away from the bottom three.

This is EXACTLY the sort of signing that we need at the moment; an experienced full back to plug the gap that we have all identified as a big issue for the team.

Hugely encouraging.

Does he like to push forward and get crosses in?

It's something we've enjoyed from our right backs in the past and still, IMO, need.

He lacks pace now, but he will give McAnuff some more freedom to bomb forward and not have to track back and cover quite as much as he has had to.
