Not taking away anything from McAnuff, because that was incredible tenacity, running and skill to do that. But what the hell kind of awful defending were Liverpool playing at?

For my money money it was a good run - but certainly NOT world class. No tackles came in - and he had a pretty free run through.
World class is the Best / Gray / Robertson type run where scything tackles were ridden and men were beaten at will.

Bloody hell could you enjoy our team beating the most successful club in the country just a little bit?

The only thing that wasn't world class was the finish. The general consensus of opinion was that if the finish was there it would have been one of the great cup goals.

If it'd gone in then we would've been watching that replayed for the rest of our days.

Just keeping my feet on the ground....
I thought the same 'criticisms' applied to the Giggs goal against the Gunners. A good run - but nobody tackled him....

The defending was comically bad, as it was for the winning goal. Two unmarked Reading players meeting the cross at the near post?

The following is an email a Liverpool acquaintance received from his club anticipating Liverpool beating Reading and thereby facing Burnley in the next round. (I think ITV were as well as they wouldn't have picked Reading Vs Burnley otherwise!) The reason we won is provided in that email I believe.

Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce the graphics but am happy to forward it to a private email address if you email me.
