I readilly take your points Sun Tzu, we were likely to have been a "yo-yo" club but I certainly didnt expect us to be a "yo-yo-yo" club heading a great speed to the heights of Div 1, but for the life of me I cant see anything being done to halt the slide. Madejski says, "We have a great squad" do we ?? our league position would dictate otherwise, no disrespect to McDermott and hell I for one am desperate to see us climb out of this present predicerment, but there should be someone in charge who has experience at times like these. Hell even Sky Sports came up with the best qoute yeaterday, saying "He had been appointed after cup wins against Liverpool and Burnley". Sod the FA Cup its league wins we need, the cup wins i agree have been great but all they have achieved is to put our better players in the shop window.
The majority of the faults aimed at Madejski are of his own doing, BR was the messiah manager, the most outstanding candidate, till he dared to suggest we improve our squad, then he was shifted out with us perilously close to the bottom three with no obvious replacement.
We lost, probably our most instinctive current striker, Noel Hunt as the season started, and should have replaced him as soon as possible rather than go with a group of strikers who, at the moment couldn't hit a horses ass with a barn door, it isnt like they have just stopped scoring, they havent been all season, there can be no argument with that.
For all the effort that Mcdermott and his squad put in there, from the outside, seems little urgency from the men at the top to stop the inevitable happening, if this is so the we will have another sale of the more valuable ones over the summer and find ourselves in a similar situation next season. For god sake if most, and I mean most, of the fans can see that why cant the club management
