Ian Royal More likely than Henry IMO, and as I edited above... I couldn't see Sig being used as the sort of wide player that would be needed in a 4-5-1 formation.

There's no way on Gods earth that a fit Gunnarsson is going to be left on the bench in order to play a rooky on the wing. It will be Sig out wide because thats the strongest five we can field and they will all need to be at their best for us to stand a chance of reaching the next round.

Yeah can't see BM going 442 myself. wouldn't be surprised to see this line-up.

Everyone expects BMcD to go 451 to stifle Villa's creativity in midfield. I see no reason to go against this but it wouldn't surprise me if we started with 2 up front. +1 on the line up above from me.

Couple of things to remember;
1)Zub is cup-tied
2) we're going to be on tele, so I think BM will go for it.

Someone said earlier, defend from the front, so;
Feds;
Bertrand,
Griffin (hopefully),
Mills,
Ivarl;
Kebe,
Howard,
Tabb/ Cisse/ Gunnar,
Sig (hopefully);
Church,
Long/ Rasiak.

I wasn't impressed with Henry the other day, although HRK looked a handful, but should have squared it to Sig, rather than blazing over.

Villa are there for the taking, immobile defence, average attack, superb midfield. Long ball maybe....

Warnock, Dunne, Cuellar, Collins - hardly immobile?

Playing long ball will play into their hands as the whole backline are strong in the air.

Midfield I think if we can get in the faces of Petrov and Milner then we have a chance of stifling them.

Put Mills on Agbonlahor and Ivar on Carew.

^^^ gets my vote. with howard,bambi and sig all supporting church there is every chance we'll get a few decent shots off. at the same time a 5 man midfield is key. anything less and i think villas quality will rip us open. stiffle them and reduce them to long balls and it gives less oppurtunity for their quality wingers to run at you!

Wouldn't mind giving Taylor a run if we are leading in the dying stages. Could give the lad a HUGE confidence boost by coming up against Villa. Appears to have potential since McDermott gave him a shirt number. Who knows? He may score the goal to put us in the semis. :D

Worried about the long balls though. Villa have quick forwards and their pace may beat our back four to the ball. Their wingers also have a habit of putting extremely good crosses in and Heskey is good in the air. May be a challenge for Mills or Ivar.

With that said, I am going to go for a 2-1 win. Luck be with us all the way. 8)

luck has a habit of running out!
in all honesty, what ever we limit them to we're going to have to battle and fight for everything. they have so much quality in the team that it doesnt matter what we do they will create a chance. its whether we let them have a proper chance of a half ass'd one that matters. i'd rather them be chasing long balls all day and having to work than having young and milner putting crosses right on to gabby and emiles noggin!
