Griffin's Hamstring Injury

by size 12 » 04 Mar 2010 16:02

Just seen on the injuries and bans section of the OS that Griffin has a hamstring injury that will be scanned this week. Does anyone have any further details about this? Major RB worry for Sunday, especially with Bryn struggling also

Either way, one of those two will get torn apart by Ashley Young. He could probably beat them in a race with his boot-laces tied together.

It's not but it certainly helps. And Young has a lot of ability and can deliver a consistantly decent cross, whereas...

Hamstrings don't heal inside a week - he'll be out. Hopefully Bryn fit to replace him.

'hamstring' isn't an injury though. Doesn't it rather depend what he's done to his hamstring ? Plenty of people get a twinge one week and play the next.

And i suspect Jay Tabb would be favourite to fill in wouldn't he ?

Given the option, Super Mac has played Bryn ahead of Jay Tabb at right back. It was Bodgers' who played Tabb at right back.

But Bryn has been out injured.

I don;t think it has anything to do with past managers. I'd suspect a fit Tabb would be favourite to handle Young rather than a player who has been out with an injury. We'll also be without Jem so I'd be looking for Bryn to add a bit of bite to the midfield.

As long as Short Cummings is nowhere near the team I don't care who plays there.

bryn has been out for all of 2 weeks.

Tabb will not get the nod over Gunnar. Gunnar has done a job in massive games for us against top oppo.

You may be right.

Although LOL at the idea that because he's 'only' been out for 2 weeks he'll come straight back in.

I'd be happy with either there, but Tabb has done a job there in a number of games and has several yards more pace than Bryn.

Griffin has a thigh injury with the Evening Post (Get Reading) reporting that he should be OK for Sunday

Bryn should be fit as well after being out for two weeks with a dead leg.

Both good news if they prove to be correct.

Hopefully Gylfi will be OK too.

Griffin and Bryn both add a huge amount to the squad IMHO, not so much in terms of their playing ability (not that I'm discounting that ) but their personality and experience are vital.

I'm sure wherever he plays Bryn will own this match.
