Alan Partridge
Wycombe Royal
Alan Partridge but no immediate pressure to win promotion

Are you serious? There is a lot of pressure to get them promoted quickly......

I don't think so. I don't think they will be expecting promotion instantly nor will he be out of a job at the end of the season if they don't achieve that unlike some clubs.

Johnson had been there a long time and they weren't going anywhere under him anymore, coupled with some laughable scorelines.

Time for a change. I'd wager Coppell gets them top 6 in 2 seasons.

Sorry AP, there is massive pressure down here for them to get promoted.

He won't be sacked if he doesn't do it this season - but he will have 6/8 games maximum to have them at the top end of the table or the yokels will be at his throat.

Also, in no way is Bristol City a "decent club" - it is a festering crap hole of a club with knuckle dragging fans and dubious officials.

loyalroyal4life With the News of Coppell being appointed as new Bristol City manager, what are everyone's views on who will come out on top over the 2 league games during next season?

Bit surprised Coppell didn't wait until summer before choosing a club, he is obviously desperate to get back into the game.

not suprised perfect job for coppelll...after his man city experience he knows that he will have more control of the football side of things at a smaller club, less expectancy but has the potential to get in the premier league, big catchment, not far for him to commute too...bit like reading tbh!!

hope he does well but not as well as reading!

brendywendy can honestly see him doing well, but the club needs some work IMO
we are ahead of them in the cycle IMO, and he needs a couple of seasons to get them going
and id be tempted to wager some cash that ingimarrsson and sonko may well be there as CBs next season.

uill be gutted to see him bring another team here, but itll be a good day, and nice to see him back too

good luck SSC

doubt ingi will go, but sonko maybe, kitson too...if they can afford him

do you reckon lita will go there too....lol :D

In boxing terms I think the contest would be stopped just before the end of the first round after Steve hits the deck for the sixth time.

In reality, I expect Ingimarsson to spend the summer camped out at Temple Meads station while Steve tells the BC board just where he can lay his hands on the best centre half in the country.
