Football Focus, when reading the Championship table: "Peterborough are still bottom despite thrashing Reading."

The BBC Football League show on Saturday mentioned that Peterborough's last game was "a 6-0 thrashing by CARDIFF".

TBH I always thought DO'D was a fairly good player and when I saw him play I was pretty impressed. Would not grumble if he was here at all.

Apparently Newcastle broke our points record....

Garth Crooks up to his usual standard:

"Looking outside of the Premier League, I must reserve praise for Newcastle manager Chris Hughton who, without an open chequebook, took the Geordies straight back to the top flight with a record number of points and with quiet dignity."

Newcastle's 102 is 4 points short and you only have to cast your memory back 4 years. It's quite insulting to undermine the best ever Championship side like that.

Apparently Brad Friedel still plays for Blackburn too.

And even Sunderland's points record is better than theirs.

I think what Garth really meant is a club record number of points.

I can't believe our TV licenses employ this clown.

The BBC website does have a complaint section, so I'd suggest that you email them. BTW, doesn't this belong in the "Media doesn't like us" thread?

When people say "record points" in a title winning context, they very rarely imply a personal best.

I have it on good authority that Garth's Premiership team of the week (which features on the BBC Sport website every Monday morning) is chosen by his son, because 'he's always too busy doing something else'.

I was told the exact same thing a couple of years ago by someone in EXTREMELY GOOD authority - how long would it take him to name 11 players?!

I still laugh/cringe at Carlton Palmer talking about us and the Blades in our first Prem season saying "Sheffield United may have won the league, but everyone knows Reading were the better side"... just 16 points to get confused by Carlton.

Kammy is good for a laugh, and above all else, is likeable. Crooks is a stuck up kunt.
