From Despair To Where? Sad how a discussion about our latest loan signing descends into a stat attack regarding the relative merits of a player who left the club nigh on 3 months ago.

This forum is dying a number crunched death.

Indeed.

Certain removals of personnel need to be made.

God, yeh - I wish it was just people shouting ill-informed and wrong opinions in plain text again. I prefer to read viewpoints that come with no attempt at justification.

Brian seems to have the Midas (or Coppell) touch.

No matter how rubbish QPR think he is, I've every confidence Brian can get the best out of him.

Now go find a striker please Brian.

You need to tweek your settings. You can "add as foe" if you find someones discussion irritating

This removes all one individuals posts and replaces it with...

"This post was made by ******** who is currently on your ignore list. Display this post"

Thus you can have a stat free forum!

I did it to see what happened but have since found hob nob much improved!

Has Mac been reading this list?

The effort to prevent those occasional slip ups will now be aided by Mikele Leigertwood, after the midfield general bolstered the Royals ranks with a loan switch from QPR- something that Brian feels will be a big boost to the side.

"I feel that we want to play two ways, 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 and to play 4-4-2 we need to play someone that's really strong in the middle.

"Now we have a player who can play that role no problem at all, he's got loads of games behind him and it gives us that alternative to play either way comfortably. That was the reason we got him.

Looks likely he'll start on Saturday

No Fixed Abode Typical average signing, probably won't offer anything better than Reading already have tbf - just bulk up on squad numbers innit.

Don't know about that. McDermott likes him, he's tried to get him before.
A synical view would be that someone is out the door come the January window, and he's in to smoothe the transition.

His no-nonsense style of play might mean that our number 4 could be off for a big fee + sell on deal. (possibly Birmingham City)

Woefully short of match fitness and was left chasing shadows for the first quarter or so of today's game. However, has a good touch and is very calm in possession, appearing to make himself time and then playing effective passes. Also got a lot of spoiling touches in to break up Leeds' moves.

After seeing todays performance by him, this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.

Not a Reading player. Jay Tabb must have felt insulted that he got in the team in front of him, and amazingly stayed on for almost the whole game. If he plays at SU we'll get well beaten.

Tabb is a far better defensive player than Leigertwood. He had an ok debut but when Tabb come on he was everything that Leigertwood wasn't. Tidy passing and solid in the tackle, closing everyone down as soon as they got the ball or looked like getting it. It was that work ethic that won us the league and we need more like Tabb.

He is a good Championship player, and is definately a destroyer not a creator. However he is woefully short of match fitness and sharpness.

I just don't know why on earth Tabb was left on bench?? Woodleg should have been the one coming on in the 76th min (or what ever minute it was)

Because he wanted to toughen up the midfield with extra height and strength. We didn't concede today so it must have worked to some degree.
