Jem Karacan

by LoyalRoyalFan » 04 Jan 2011 14:49

Is having a really impressive season.

He works hard, puts in a decent tackle and isn't afraid to go forward. His partnership with Leigertwood is looking to be the best midfield partnership since Harper and Sidwell.

Just need to hold onto him now.

I think Mcanuff in front of Elwood would work well when we feel we need a more attacking prescence.

Also allows for antonio to be given a go on the wing

I am reserving judgement on Karacan until he passes a football. I like him a lot for the tempo and tackling he brings, but his lack of ability on the ball is a real pain. It doesn't need to be spectacular, Sidwell was superb for us when he broke up play and passed it ten yards, Karacan breaks up play and hoofs it out of play/to nobody.

Like so many of our players - he is "nearly" a very good player.

Yep.

LRF misses the point again.

Think he's done plenty enough to show he can do it, it's making the decision to control and look up rather than hoof or chip forward on a more regular basis that is where the problem lies.

Still only 21, plenty of time for him to develop and learn those skills.

Our side is full of 'nearly' players because we've got such a young squad, the likes of Pearce, Karacan, HRK, etc still have a lot of developing to do

We should remember that if we can keep this team together, Mills/Pearce will improve, Long/Church will improve, Karacan will improve, Feds will improve... Cummings it he stays will improve (especially if he bulks up). Antonio, HRK will improve, so will Jake Taylor. We have the core of a Busby's Babes!

Are likely to improve. There is no guarantee they will. Plenty of players fail to live up to early promise and disappear down the leagues.

I firmly believe all WILL improve.

Karacan is already a proven player, ditto Long, Church, Mills, Pearce.

Antonio has had a good run at Southampton, too. The only way is up!

Once again you go OTT snowball, they all CAN improve, there is no way to say they will, no manager would say anything other than they can improve, I would agreethat many can improve, having seen a good few cup games the last few seasons there have been signs that our academy is bringing through better players, Siggy stood out bu there were others looking good as well, Antonio, with the throw and strength could go further, we will see.

Either way we need to bring players through, as do all clubs.

What you believe is utterly irrelevent as it does not shape reality.

For me Jem is one of the best things to have come out of this season so far. Really pushed on this year. Just like Sidwell but without as many goals, but younger ovb.

Why is "believing" something OTT?

Oh, I didn't know that.

And I must have been wrong about Kebe, about Long, too.

Speaking of bizarre chants, anyone recall the chant that someone was trying to get going at Swansea? Admittedly he didnt get very far as it was him on his own but it sounded creative
