Isn't that because both loans were only up until January anyway?

I don't think we've recalled them early.

I like Fed but i think we should sell him for a couple of million, as his deal up soon. And use the money to buy Austin and Mikele. Let Anderson and Mcarthey battle it out for number 1 shirt

The Club do seem to be reporting it as having recalled them but in the case of Andersen at least the then Manager of Bristol Rovers was looking for another goalkeeper at least a month ago as he publicly said Mikkel's loan expired in early January. Not sure about Hamer but as he wasn't getting any pitch time it wasn't worth him staying at Brentford.

Would it be wise to sell him at this point of the season. He declined the Asia Cup to hopefully concentrate on RFC, not put himself omn the negiotiation table.

Snowball

Have you been a professional goalkeeper or coach?

You really are a petty little man.
They MAY be, but because I have not been a goalkeeper or a goalkeeping coach I'm not dumb enough to pontificate about them.
For me the will was in bold purely to indicate that they are not yet there. Given that we have 4 pro keepers there is a significant chance that Federici will be bettered... At least I believe a bookie would quote odds to that effect.
Snowball, you are acting like a brat over this and throwing toys out of your pram. Are you now planning to back Fed with a battery of pseud-scientific crap designed to drain the fun out of the game [as you do with your droning on about Long]?
For me we should keep Fed [& Long] - but be aware that the guy is gaffe prone. Let us get real and accept that if our players were all top class they would have gne along with Siggy. We are supporters. Let us support what is put on the field.

BTW you seem to feel that only ex-pro / GK coaches can have an opinion... Where were you a striker / pro coach? If you weren't I trust you will stop lauding Long....

I've backed my opinions with facts and stats. In the case of Long I was under tremendous
pressure and have been for about three years. I've been proved right.

But I've watched him live, maybe 50-60-70-80 times and watched him on TV or the OS
and followed his career and been watching football for about 55 years, including
hundreds of training sessions in what's now League 2 back when it was Division 4.

And though I was never a pro, I did play as a RW or CF for 13 or so adult years and then
played CB for another 9. I miss a lot of the subtleties of midfield play even now, but less
of the defence and attack, cos I've done it. But even then I always try to justify my
opinions with something more concrete like goal-ratios or whatever.

The idea that anybody without specialist goalkeeping knowledge
can look at Hamer/McArthy's/Anderson's performances for RFC (almost nil)
and say the probably WILL be better than Federici which means they WILL
play in the Premiership (because, at the very least Feds is fringe Prem Class
is dumb, and classic pissing in the wind.

It's POSSIBLE they may all be better than Gordon Banks, but there is a HUGE
doubt, a very very high chance they won't. ONE of the three kept a lot of clean
sheets at a league 1 or 2 club. If they "probably WILL be" better than Feds, why
has no Prem club come in for them? They'd get them reasonably cheap.

Excellent news

Had my doubts about him last season, but really seems to have stepped up this season. Good news.

Would have preferred to have seen a new three year deal to 2014, but still great news.

Noel Hunt next - he said on twitter he was sitting down with the club to sort out a new deal so lets hope he can.....

Probably - in the article he states it would be unfair on the club if he went on a free in the summer

Well that pretty much sums it up, we're already in 2011.
We'll have to sell him by 2012 to get anything for him.

Sounds like he will go this summer.

Yep - if Reading don't get promotion this season he'll be sold to a Prem team.
