No Fixed Abode
soggy biscuit I bet Kes's mum & dad had a job on their hands trying to calm him down before bedtime last night.

Why? I was more excited when we played Ipswich in the 3rd round. Bigger club than Reading.

Same with me. This year just isn't as exciting as last year when we played a far bigger club than Chelsea.

Everton for me simply because its a ground I haven't been to and one that's more likely to go in the next few years

Chelsea would be closer and easier to get to

Everton would be much better though

Royal Lady Yes - but BBCRB appear to have forgotten that.

What is the point in giving out the news if they get wrong - like they do their travel reports half the time.

Ah fair enough. But seeing as it's only friendlies, surely Everton and Chelsea could just keep their players and just play it then?

Everton for a million and one reasons - not least that it's a proper football ground, with decent, friendly pubs nearby. And the distance will rule out some of the day-trippers, too.

Chelsea for me, it's a lot closer and we will take more fans.
If it was going to be played on a Saturday then perhaps Everton would be better though because we'd have more chance of picking up a decent result and would still take a few thousand hopefully :? - would fancy beating either in a replay though 8)

Chelsea would be better on a week night as there would be more chance of getting tickets, saying that I doubt we would sell out 7000 anyway

It's a proper football ground where it's like watching the game through your letterbox! Dreadful, shitty stand for the away fans.

Agreed. I've seen us play at Goodison twice. Its a crappy, delapidated place.

Crappy, delapidated places with proper wooden flip-down seats >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> identikit concrete and plastic places that all look and feel the same

Personally I'd rather be able to see the game having paid somewhere around £30 and driven for 3 hours each way.

(having seen your golf clubs some time back however I can understand your liking for delapidated football grounds though  )

The argument's false anyway. All of the old dilapidated grounds look as much like each other as the brand new ones - football grounds were built to a standard pattern in 1900 as much as they were in 2000.

True, but they're so rare these days that the opportunity to watch football in one with Leitch original features is worth grabbing with both hands.

Exactly! I bet you in about 20 to 30 years time some of the "new" stadiums will have had some changes made to them over time, such as extensions, hotels etc etc that they will look different to each other.

No - just haven't got that many royalty points due to not attending many home games (150 mile round trip just for home games for me), get to a fair few away games though
