First (obviously) Senior goal in the Hat-trick he scored against Cambridge in 1984. I had been to quite a few reserve games before this but they (again obviously) don't count.

1995, May - Lee Nogan's absolute beauty against Bolton in the play off final. Not just first live goal, first goal I'd ever seen Reading score.

Think I went to a 0-0 in 1991 before attending regularly next season. Therefore, it's whoever scored first at EP in the 91/92 season.

Soccerbase has that as a 3-2 against Bury but doesn't list the scorers.

March 1954-Quinlan or Blackman v Norwich.
Ronnie Blackman scored 28 goals that season.

Optimist Stuart Lovell vs Wolves in 97, then he scored the winner a few minutes later which guarenteed survival!

Same here. Remember standing on tip toes to see it.

I saw my first League game in 1967/68. We beat Stockport 3-0, though I can't remember the scorers. I've got a feeling they were John Sainty, Ernie Yard and George Harris, but can't really remember. I'd seen Reading play against Brentford in a pre-season friendly competition a few weeks before, but can't remember the score, let alone the scorers!

Just checked it out for you HR.
It was the first game of the season and John Sainty scored 2 with the late great Denis Allen getting the other one.
You mentioned George Harris and no doubt you will be glad to know that he is alive and well and did the half-time draw at the Millwall game a couple of weeks ago.

Ah, John Sainty joined us from Spurs for a big fee (£10,000 IIRC), had two or three outstanding games and then quickly became poor.

George Harris, there was a legend, I too am pleased to know he is alive and well.

The one and only Dick Habbin Vs PNE at Elm Park Easter 1971.

All I can remember was it was at Town End and could hardly see it.

November 1989, Reading 1-1 Bristol City. Trevor Senior, 12 yards out, picks up a loose ball and lashes it home from 12 yards to give what I think was an equaliser.

I know it was Senior, I know it was 1-1, but all other details are liable to be completely incorrect. I was only 7 at the time!!

Get yourself down Palmer Park of a Sunday morning and you'll see a real star old boy...not on the pitch mind. RZR hasn't seen the light yet...

It was against Doncaster at Elm Park in the 78-79 promotion season. Always thought it was Ollie Kearns but having read the earlier post concerning this match might have to concede that it was Richie Bowman. If I remember correctly five members of that team scored double figures that season and the back four and keeper were all ever present. What a season - been hooked ever since...........

I remember that game. I sat in front of some mong ST who spent the entire game scoffing at what a load of rubbish we were and how we would be embarrassed if we went up to the Premiership. During a 5-1 win, FFS
