Mr Angry Just a shame that - a. we were unable to fail to prevent late goals v Cardiff, QPR and Norwich last month; (those 3 goals cost us 5 points) & b. we don't have 15 games left rather than 10.

For me, the two really disappointing "dropped point episodes" were Cardiff and Sheff Utd - 4 points gone there when we really should have closed the games out.

Still, we're way in credit in terms of pointed gained in the final 15 mins so I can't be too downhearted....

Can't say I'm upset about Cardiff given we scored so late to take the lead... though I guess you could argue we should never have conceeded the first.

Good results or us today, if we can continue to close the gap over the next few weeks then April is going to be a very exciting month!

That's just it though - if you take the lead in the 91st minute anything less than 3 points from the game is careless IMO.

I just can't get upset.... I was holding out hope we'd hold on to the draw... we went ahead, we threw it away stupidly and got the draw we'd probably deserved.

Regardless of what others do we'll still need to get a minimum of 18 pts to be in with a chance of scraping into 6th position. Whether thats 6 wins or 5 wins 3 draws it's quite a tall order.

We really could do with this hot streak continuing & I would guess we'll probably need to win one of the matches against Forest or Leeds.

i dont think that 7 wins 1 draw and 2 defeats to Leeds and Forest is out of the question.

Definitely 1 of them, and probably both (as it stops them from collecting the points as well as us collecting them).

Realistically we're better against the better teams so I reckon we have a good chance at min 3 pts from those 2 games. It's the others that might prove problematic. Sheff U for example will be fighting for their lives when we face them. There will be some odd results to come for sure.

We need to make the most of this little run & get another 6-7 pts from the next 9 available IMO.

Are we? Our record vs teams above is doesn't reflect that:

QPR - 2 losses
Swansea - 2 losses
Norwich - 1 draw, 1 loss
Cardiff - 2 draws
Leeds - 1 draw
Forest - 1 draw
Burnley - 2 wins

So that's P 12, W 2, D 5, L 5

Even including down to 12th and we're only P19, W 4, D 10, L 5

True but Forest really look to have "blown", and if we are still averaging 2 ppg I think we'll get a result there.

Forest, Last 8 Games

1-2 Sheffield
0-1 Hull
1-1 Boro
0-0 Millwall
2-2 Preston
2-1 Cardiff
0-1 Scunthorpe
1-1 QPR

One win in 8 games P8 W1 D4 L3 7-9

W2 D5 L1 14-9 (and the defeat was a 94th minute goal)

Good point TROLI. I must've been getting nostalgic about the old days when writing that as it always used to be the case ha ha. Our record this season against them is utterly woeful although we did ok against Forest & Leeds..

Ian Royal posted this on another thread; I thought it was worthy of inclusion on here:(nb - this was posted BEFORE tonights games...)

We have 6 three goal winning margins this season. Only QPR at 7 have a comparable number, and they've won 19 games to our 12 and are, lets face it, run away leaders. Swansea, Leeds & Watford all have 3 I think.

That means HALF of our wins this season have been by 3 goal margins. This is staggering, no one else (top half) is even close to that. It shows we can slaughter the weak teams (and most of them have been mid-table or worse, Burnley being the only real exception), but we can't replicate our performances enough against the better teams. And the huge percentage of games (60%) we've dropped points for want of one extra goal scored, or fewer conceeded is another reason to believe we're right on the edge of something here.

I think it's an indication that we aren't actually that far from having a very very good season sometime soon, if we can just keep most of the squad together, with a couple of tweaks we're there.

We're yet to lose a game by three goals all season and we've only lost by two goals TWICE! That's as good as QPR who have only lost three games all season.

In cricketing terms, we're Graeme Hick; a flat track bully. Luckily however, most of our remaining games are against exactly the sort of teams which we have been putting to the sword (the exceptions recently being Palace and Shef Utd).

Fine - say that. Still not that great though. And also a tad selective when you consider that 2nd and 3rd are level on points and only separated by a GD of +4.

Anyway I do think we have a chance to pick up points against Forest & Leeds. How we didnt beat Leeds at home I'll never know & Forest weren't that great either.

Flat Track bullies who win away at Ipswich, pummeled Burnley away, won away at Leicester,
beat Burnley at the Mad Stad, have beaten two Premiership sides, drew with the sides that
are currently 3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th (twice)
