I take it the FA used the alphabetical list for these four and Mark Halsey wasn't avaiable, so we ended up with a Nigel!

Ah, yes, the same idiot who decided to give Church a second yellow for getting pushed into the crowd as he celebrated his equaliser.

And also gave one of the dodgiest penalties I've ever seen as well.

Mark Haywood please, please do not appear at the Mad Stad again the performace you gave last night was the worst from a referee this season.

A blatant handball on the goal line missed with 15,000 in the stadium seeing it why not you I ask myself

I thought Portsmouth were dirty and cynical last weekend but PNE topped that constantly kicked the Reading side for 90 minutes and you booked only two players.

You went to book Ingamarsson for handball and then thought twice about after the crowds reaction.

Crowds reaction you know what we thought so don't come back.

Listened to Phil Brown's rant about him and as usual with most Managers it was hilariously biased complaining that Jobi and Jimmy both committed fouls in our first goal. However, even he admitted that we should have had a penalty for the handball incident so if someone as one eyed as him says that I think that says a lot.

I thought the ref's performance was summed up by an incident fairly late on when there was a blatant shirt pull right in front of him which had to be given by the Assistant and he then booked their player. What I didn't realise at the time was that he apparently booked the wrong player too.

We have been served up with some really crap officials over the years but this joker, ably assisted by the equally inept lanky idiot running the East Stand line, shoots right towards the wrong end of that roll of mediocrity.

He completely failed to spot Preston's game plan of snuffling out our wide men by fair or foul means, usually the latter and usually by a blatant pull back of shirt or arm. As far as he was concerned, tackling straight throught the back of players (when he or the lanky idiot actually saw it) is completely acceptable as are two handed shoves in the back of players. Instead he preferred to pull up Jobi for a dubious 'high' foot which presented no real danger to any other player and Griffin for executing a perfectly fair one footed sliding tackle (fully along the ground, fully in control, no raised foot, no undue or reckless force) which played the ball away for a throw long before the opponent tumbled over!

As for his double failure (yes lanky was to blame too!) to spot a blatant handball on the line and to issue the mandatory penalty and red card - well according to Phil Brown, that constitutes not giving Preston any decisions in their favour!

A special mention to the lanky one who failed to spot the defender's hand firmly welded to Kebe's shirt, despite it happening right in front of him and then left it to the ref to make the call when Kebe finally succumbed to a combination of that and a trailing foot!

The only thing to be said in favour of these two clowns is that they managed to so incense both our team and supporters by the injustice/ineptitude of their officiating, that they really fired them up! The crowd became incredibly vocal/loud and that helped further fire up an already motivated team to lay seige of the Preston goal and eventually see justice done with a winning goal!

The Real Sandhurst Royal Mark Haywood please, please do not appear at the Mad Stad again the performace you gave last night was the worst from a referee this season.

I forgot to mention that. Exactly what appeared to happen and utterly incredible conduct by a referee. For a moment it seemed as though he genuinely feared for his safety (probably justifiably so, given his performance up until then, the level of crowd unrest and the fact that such a stupid and unjust booking might have tipped some over the edge)!

I'm amazed that no-one has mentioned the late lunge at Jem right on the West Stand touchline in the first half. Right under the nose of ref and lino and clearly late and straight onto his ankle, studs up - and nothing done whatsoever!

I'd like to know how people like this manage to stay in employment. Talk about Air Asia - sky pilot or what? One of the most inept performances I think I've ever seen during my time of attending the Mad Stad, and that's a few year's worth now. Preston came with one Phil Brown intention and our players received zilch protection. Jobi looked well pissed off when he left the pitch and who can blame him?

I have had my liitle rant already about Mark Haywood who was totally out his depth with PNE physical tactics throughout the game he missed so much.

He is better suited to Under 9' and 10's games down the local park on a saturday morning where there is minimal contact if any!!!
