John Peel I think automatic is for Cardiff to take now. We will probably finish third. And then win the play offs :)

That's the most likely, agreed, but just think of Cardiff-QPR being this weekend.

If QPR were to win and we won, we'd be above Cardiff on GD.

I most certainly don't think Cardiff will win 4 out of 5. If the get 12 points then we'd need to WWWWW, but I don't think they'll manage that

Fixtures

Cardiff v Portsmouth
Cardiff v QPR
Preston v Cardiff
Cardiff v Middlesbrough
Burnley v Cardiff

They could easily drop points in every one of those games. QPR, obviously, BORO are on form, Preston are on form. Burnley and Pompey seem to have switched off but they are still good sides.

I think Cardiff will do well do get 9 points from their last 5, meaning we need 4 wins from 5.

VERY tough, starting with what might be the toughest, Leicester, but definitely possible

Leeds must surely be the toughest, then again all managers will say there are no easy games at this point in the season.

Trouble with Leeds is that a few weeks ago we were trying to catch them to make the play-offs, now they are the ones being chased by the pack, and come Good Friday they will be desperate for the points.

The whole section 2nd to 5th has closed up tight, Leeds are now out of the race for automatic, lets hope that they are looking safe for a a PO place I think we want them to beat Watford this set of games.

Why wouldn't we want them to lose to Watford?

Should they beat Watford they will be closer to a play off place, giving them a bit of space. An alternative would be Forest to win at N'wich and Leeds lose and fall out of the PO positions.

Whichever way it goes is one hell of a game, anyone know how well Leeds have done on the TV is season?

oic being safe, tho, they might play with freedom, and on their day they can be brilliant

I would prefer to see them desperate, i think

Their overall form for the first ten games of this last 15 is ordinary, just over 1.5 ppg

I would rather Leeds lost to Watford before they play us; don't ignore the value of momentum at this stage of the season (think how Norwich must be feeling right now!) and let them feel that they HAVE to beat us, rather than merely not lose (which was their attitude at the Mad Stad earlier in the season). If they do that, they will come at us and then we will score goals against a porous Leeds defence; I can't see our game with Leeds ending 0-0 somehow!

As the table stands winning at Leeds would give us our first win against the other 5 top teams this season.

Indeed.

As the stats prove.

Luckily, we have no teams above us left to play this season.....

As a picture paints a million statistics, here's the graphical predictions for the teams in contention. This is a straight-forward mathematical extrapolation based on season-long results, split by home and away.

Enjoy!

That's good.

Obviously if (when) we finish in the play offs (or top two!) we'll have deserved it for the season as a whole. But at the same time we'll have got there despite not playing consistently well enough for actually a majority of the season, and then becoming some sort of team of infallible, omnipotent Gods.

Or Swansea or Norwich - unless the form of thoe clubs and/or us changes, which it certainly will do.

The point of the graphs is to show trends, like how well we've done recently and how Forest have plumetted, as well as showing that Cardiff are on an upward trend whilst Norwich have been fluctuating between 78 - 82 points for months.

Finally teams are falling away from catching us.

1 QPR........41 38 82 MAX 97
2 Cardiff.....42 24 75....... 87
3 Norwich....42 19 74.......86
4 Reading....42 26 72.......84
5 Swansea...42 18 70.......82
6 Leeds......42 10 65.......77
7 Nott'm Ft..42 10 63.......75
8 Hull........ 42 6 63.......75
9 Millwall.... 42 12 61.......73
10 Leicester..42 2 60.......72
11 Burnley.....41 1 60.......75

Monday, 18 April 2011
QPR v Derby, 19:45

Tuesday, 19 April 2011
Burnley v Middlesbrough, 19:45

Thursday, 21 April 2011
Ipswich v Norwich, 19:45

Friday, 22 April 2011
Nott'm Forest v Leicester, 17:15
Leeds v Reading, 19:45

Saturday, 23 April 2011
Cardiff v QPR, 12:45
Derby v Burnley, 15:00
Hull v Middlesbrough, 15:00
Portsmouth v Swansea, 15:00
Millwall v Preston, 17:20

Monday, 25 April 2011

Bristol City v Nott'm Forest, 15:00
Burnley v Portsmouth, 15:00
Crystal Palace v Leeds, 15:00
Leicester v Watford, 15:00
Norwich v Derby, 15:00
Preston v Cardiff, 15:00
QPR v Hull, 15:00
Reading v Sheff Utd, 15:00
Scunthorpe v Millwall, 15:00
Swansea v Ipswich, 15:00

Saturday, 30 April 2011
Leeds v Burnley, 12:45
Coventry v Reading, 15:00
Doncaster v Leicester, 15:00
Hull v Crystal Palace, 15:00
Millwall v Swansea, 15:00
Nott'm Forest v Scunthorpe, 15:00
Watford v QPR, 15:00

Monday, 2 May 2011
Cardiff v Middlesbrough, 17:15
Portsmouth v Norwich, 19:45

Saturday, 7 May 2011
Barnsley v Millwall, 12:45
Bristol City v Hull, 12:45
Burnley v Cardiff, 12:45
Crystal Palace v Nott'm Forest, 12:45
Leicester v Ipswich, 12:45
Norwich v Coventry, 12:45
QPR v Leeds, 12:45
Reading v Derby, 12:45
Swansea v Sheff Utd, 12:45

If QPR win on Monday then a point at Cardiff will crown them promoted, while a win would see them champions, adds spice to the game for Cardiff.

Ipswich will always try to put one over in the East Anglian Derby.

IF Reading win the next three games they WILL go second, as Cardiff and Norwich do not play untill May 2nd.

The only thing you can be sure of is that results will still go against expectations, just hoping that we get the 4 wins, and that is enough.
