Franchise FC
DOYLERSAROYALER ...was disappointed with McAnuff ...for a player with his experience, he showed little enthusiasm for the harder graft as others like Karacan were showing, flitted in and out and only showed any real fight towards latter end of match....

Thought defence was very good apart from kish's distribution, with both full backs also doing a good shift on the wings....

Centre midfield was a battlefield but both Kara nd Liegertwood did their jobs well.....

Hunt didnt do a lot ,HRK showed more investiveness than McAnuff and Long did his usual 100% shift...

I expect it will be 5 across the middle on Tuesday with Howard in for Hunt and Kebe back in if fit ...at this time, id rather have him in for McAnuff but it will no doubt be for HRK

Bothroyd obv learnt his art for cheating and diving in Italy.....Hopefully Webb will deal with it better than Halsey did last night...an early booking for it on Tuesday would help !

Has no-one else picked up on the fact that Howard Webb is one of the biggest homer ref's going !!??

That's good. He's English and so are we.

Again, we don't need to play brilliantly or even particularly well.

All we have to do is play better than Cardiff do and/or score one more goal than them. We could have a pretty crap performance but somehow keep Cardiff out, and score a single goal that's deflected off Church's arse and that'll do for me.

It needn't be pretty, it needs to be enough.

superreadingfan not good enough.

it was a good run but its over. start the fire sale excuses. rumors of an nonexistent warchest. all that typical pre season hype and come to the same conclusion. empty promises.

bring on next season. new faces. new manager. new owner.

we can dare to dream.. again

good thread SRF!

On the brightside the promotion party thread gets (at least) another season...

It's quite possible we can win on penalties without actually creating a good goal scoring chance in the 210 minutes.

We're not good enough for promotion, Friday highlighted this big time. We peaked slightly too early and are missing Kebe and Shane Long in form.

Longs carrying an injury I fear. In terms of being good enough - well they are by far our best two players. Not many teams in this league are good enough for promotion without their two best players. QPR without Tarabt and Faulin? Norwich without Holt and Hoolahan, Cardiff without Bellamy and Bothroyd? Swansea without Sinclair?

Slightly concerned his agent has an offer tripling has salary up his sleeve and he doesn't want a long term injury (see Stephen Hunt)

Enjoyable game Friday. Even Mills managed to play a short pass to a team mate. Still gave away possession too easily though.

Cardiff will have to be more positive Tuesday night and, as Reading's strengths lie in counter attacking hoof, sorry football, it could make for interesting viewing.

sandman If we can go to Anfield and Goodison and beat Liverpool and Everton we can go to Cardiff and beat them. Good result and the pressure is all on the serial bottlers.

Just how many play off games have Reading won? And off these, how many have been finals?

How many Play offs have Reading lost in a row? This Cardiff team have been together for the last few years and failed to go up each year. A couple of years ago they even managed to throw away the chance of participating the play offs in the last game of the season when they were nailed on to qualify for them.

THIS Reading team is in it's first play off campaign.

I think we cant fault the teams effort personally. So often this season we have seen teams come to the Madejski and play poorly, and i recall countless times on BBC Berks hearing people texting in and saying "the other team didnt turn up" and i think this is more credit to the Reading side that they are just simply trying harder alot of time. We have a team, who IMO, are overperforming and if 5 months ago i was told we would be in the play offs come the end of the season i would of laughed. I rekon we can win tomorrow, and McD will work his usual magic on bigging up the important games

We're 0/4 in play-off campaigns, very likely to be 0/5 after tomorrow. How many clubs have a worse play-off record? How many did ipswich need before they went up a few years ago?

Doubt that we are good enough even with our two best players in form. And neither will maintain their best form for a whole Prem season.
