Hopefully Newcastle look at signing Ba, Cole or Keane (Doubt he'll stay at Tottenham) rather than going for Long.

More chance of them signing Long than any of those (Ashley wants younger players with re-sale value)

Don't think Ba can sign for anyone else until January (2 clubs in a year rule) ?
Although it seems loans can somehow get round this one.

So was Gus Poyet. :|

So was Kate Middleton's mum and dad

As a new member of the Windsor Royal family, Princess Catherine has decided to allow Prince William to become a member of the real Royal family by purchasing Reading Football club. This is a suprise wedding present for the Duke of Cambridge. Sir John Madejski's attendance at the Royal wedding was part of the deal. The stadium will be renamed The Fun Frolics Royal Stadium to coincide with new sponsership. Rumour has it once the Waitrose deal has come to an end, the shirts will be sponsered by the Duchy Originals.

The attendance of Mr and Mrs Middleton at the Play-off semi final was in place of the Royal couple who are currently away on Honeymoon.

You heard it here first.

Lennon at the game again tonight, but could have been watching Bothroyd who is on a free. Celtic won't be able to afford £5m plus for Long

Lennon may have been watching Long, but I expect he will be priced out of a deal. More likely he was watching Adam Matthews:

Shane at SPL level will be devastating!!

Frankly, if Celtic meet the (supposed) fee clause, that would be a smart move for a young Irish lad; better that than sitting on the bench getting the odd run out at places like Everton or Newcastle.

If he went to Everton or Newcastle I think he'd get more than the odd run out - both clubs are very short on quality strikers.

I wonder whether Ebanks Blake might move on from Wolves leaving a slot for Shane to fill... (He's only started 23 games in the last 2 seasons, +30 sub appearances and scored 9 goals so may need to move down a level to really get his career going again...)

He can't be on particularly big wages at Wolves so a swap+ deal might suit all parties nicely....

the guy has a release clause in his contract letting him go if we didn't go up for £5m, maybe a little more, I can't remember the exact figure.

He looked devastated at the final whistle. Hopefully he'll sign a new deal on same terms for next year and we'll build around him

Interesting read... Madejski confirming Long is leaving and Celtic look to have to pay £4mil for him. Naturally i'm gutted he'll be off but what a profit!

Don't think it's any surprise that he'll be off - and does anyone really begrudge him the chance to play at the highest level at this stag in his career?
