The Premier League....

by sandman » 30 May 2011 20:53

really isn't that great anyway. The Champions of the "Best league in the World" got totally and utterly humiliated by the champions of a league which is according to it's detractors a glorified SPL. The other big team from said inferior league would've most likely trounced our league champions as well.

All the truly world class players of today play for Spains big two. Sure we kid ourselves that Shrek the fifth is in the class of the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldo, Ozil and Higuain but much like his friend Mr Tevez from across Manchester all he is is a glorified work horse.

We get more games for our season ticket money, we have a chance of seeing something other than our team get trounced every week and we avoid meeting even more a*sehole PL fans in the vein of No Assembley Required and The Moronic Dick.

We'll lose our best players and will need to rebuild but at least it won't be as boring as watching Man United or Chelsea win every week from an armchair.

The Premier League is the hang over you have to suffer for a promotion party. Who really wants to play the likes of Bolton, Wigan, Chelsea or Blackburn anyway?

The Chumpionship is much more fun.

Can all talk about the Premier League be placed in the General FOotball section please. It has no place in the Reading FC Team section.

Thanks.

The Premier League is ok for a holiday, but tbh we've been having our big club/game jollies in the cup the last couple of years anyway.

League one was even better if we're honest.

I've been to two play off finals this weekend both lost, I'm not bothered about the end result of promotion in either. Ideally I'd have liked to have seen both teams win and stay in the same league as ludicrous as that sounds. It's more the sense of achievement that i'm personally after rather than the promotion. The Premiership if you haven't seen it live before is great, Swansea will be loving it and will be excited like us lot were in 2006, if you've been there the thoughts of home defeats by Fulham and Bolton and if Reading have a great season they might finish 10th but in all likeliness are going to be bottom 4 or 5 all season doesn't appeal to me. The Championship is their rightful level and it's a level they can be succesful and competitive at.

The premier league isn't great, losing all your players when you fail to go up is worse.

And after Roman tires of his plaything failing to deliver the CL glory he crazes, Chelsea fans will be experiencing it!
