Dowd's body language seemed to indicate an eagerness to be the centre of events, with that camp drama that some Prem refs seem to revel in.

I'm always mildly amused by refs such as he who can't seem to blow the whistle/get the card out of the pocket/stand erect with a stern face with sudden stock-still immobility after running quick enough, like a bit part dancer from 'Hitler the Musical'.

Just the wrong side of histrionic for my liking.

Reminded me a bit of a pie-loving Rob Styles. Huff and puff-pastry refereeing with a thick look-at-me sauce.

No Fixed Abode Thought he had a superb game today. Missed one or two minor things, but on the whole, he was excellent.

I don't know who the bigger cunt is, kes or Mr Dowd....

Don't htink I will ever criticize Championship refs again after the performances of Durso in the home semi and Dowd in the final. Showmen who need to get back to basics!

If you mean our home semi this season, it was Halsey in the middle, not D'Urso

2 definite penalties, but Dowd was poor. Swansea could play physical, we couldn't. Inconsistent.

Ill dicipline was a major factor in your downfall - you could see the Reading players were rattLOLed and frustrated. Griffin kept flying in with challenges when there was no need to. All he needed to do was stay on his feet for the challenge on Borini and he went in overly strong in the first half. With the way the game is reffed these days you're looking for trouble diving in like that.

Like I say, read my post above this. You're as rattLOLed as the Reading players were.

Haven't watched the highlights, but it seemed to me from my seat behind the goal that the officials missed a key incident in the run up to Swansea's third, too: Harte goes up for a header whereas Dyer simply doesn't bother; Dyer nudges Harte in the back in mid-air leaving the latter falling to the ground and the former with a free run and an unimpeded cross. Harte wins the header; or we get the free kick we should have got - again, no goal.

Can't blame the ref for the calamitously naive defending on the pitch, and from players who should know better, but Swansea were not, on the performance, three goals better than us at half time - that they were, rather than a fairer one goal up, owed everything to the way the game was reffed and to a failure to spot clear fouls on our players for the second and the third goals.

I've said it once, I'll say it again; there was a very clear hand-ball by a Swansea player in the build up to the 1st goal (out on the wide left). It shouldn't of stood.

Had forgotten about Dowd's impact that day until this was dug up, shows how much I've come to terms with that defeat yet I still can't let 1995 go without thinking how McAteer should have gone

He did give us the pen at Anfield in the last minute, takes a brave ref to do that. He went from being my favourite ref to my most hated in one season.

I'm sure those two events were two different seasons?

So without checking who was the barsteward in the black who got is so wrong on that day?

Personally I can't remember but I will never forget the b*rstard Butcher from Bootle!

I also still remember Tony Morrisey who was flattened by a fan at the end of a game at Elm Park and reputedly had to sneak out across the pitch and through the Southbank to escape the angry horde in Norfolk Road afterward!
