Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Southampton (H) Sat 22 Oct SDD on FS+

by RoyalChicagoFC » 12 Oct 2011 15:10

Hiya --all busy & out of breath, but I just saw that the match at home to Southampton on Saturday week 22 October has been moved to tea time over across, so that's the Fox Soccer Plus match from the League Championship for the day

Thing is, it's been bumped for a live Serie A match but is set to screen on immediate delay, beginning right around when the full-time whistle sounds --KO is 12:20 PM Eastern U.S. time (5:20 over across), and the match will screen on FS+ from 2:00

Repeat screenings on FS+ are set for midnite Saturday/Sunday and on Tuesday the 25th from 11:00 AM (times Eastern); Blackpool v. Forest is set to be screened on delay immediately following

I know nothing about streams and would urge the curious to do their own google-ing, etc

Please note that British Summer Time ends overnite on 29/30 October but that the U.S. does not revert to Standard Time until the following weekend

For this reason, RFC's midweek match away to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday 1 November will kick off an hour later than what is normal in the States --at 3:45 PM Eastern Daylight Time, to be precise

This is the only one of our guys' kickoff times that will be affected by the staggered resetting of clocks, as we play on the preceding Saturday and on the following Sunday 6 November, by which time the U.S. will have gone back to Standard Time and normal time conversions will have gone back into effect overnite and shall remain thus until springtime (and breathe)

Also please note that analog timepieces are made to go clockwise, so do spare the moment necessary to fall back by springing forward --it's cheaper than getting a watch or clock repaired

That's all for now; updates/revisions to follow as needed

if anyone else is in Canada the game is on Setanta at 12.20 eastern time (either they like us more than serie A or they don't have the rights to it).

Setanta always shows Championship, they don't show any Italian football. The Score wasted all their money on buying rights to Serie A.

Just for future reference, it would appear that Setanta Sports Canada is in the process of being re-branded as Sportsnet World under the ownership of Rogers Media (scroll to bottom; no pendant-o)

Today's match remains set for a live screening in Canada on that channel, with a repeat set for Monday at 1:45 AM

South of the border, we're still on with everything that I'd reported and no changes (although I'd add here that subscribers to FoxSoccer.tv can stream it both live and on demand after full time once they've re-racked and loaded the thing):

On the old skool box, it'll screen first time delayed on Fox Soccer Plus from 2:00 PM Eastern right around when the full time whistle sounds (again, KO is 12:20 Eastern)

Repeat screenings follow from midnite Eastern (9:00 PM on the West Coast) and once again on Tuesday from 11:00 AM EDT

Also reminding that the match away to Forest on Tuesday 1 November will kick off at 3:45 PM Eastern instead of the usual 2:45 owing to clocks being set back by an hour one week earlier over that side than here; normal service on the time conversions other'n that

Last, nothing to report on the match at home to Birmingham City on Sunday 6 November from 10:00 AM Eastern, at which time two other matches in the division kick off (and I would be inclined to think that Leicester v. Leeds would be at the head of the queue in the eyes of those who make programming decisions)

Enjoy, etc

Re: Reading FC on U.S. TV: Watford (A) Sat 14 Jan LIVE on FS+

by RoyalChicagoFC » 24 Dec 2011 17:31

Righto buoys & squrrielz --season's greetings, etc

The match away to Watford on Saturday 14 January has been moved to tea time o'er across, which means that we'll get it here as a 12:20 PM Eastern KO

Fox Soccer Plus will have it live, which is bad in one sense (it's a premium subscription channel) but good in a few others: it's on TV at all, and any football pub worthy of the name and most sports bars will have it --and between all Premier League fixtures on the day kicking off at 3:00 GMT and most of the major European leagues on winter break, plus the NFL playoff games not kicking off until after 4:00 PM Eastern, ours will pretty much be the only event of consequence going at that time

There'll be repeat screenings added, and I'd imagine Canada and Oz'll have it live too; I'll post whatever additions follow as the day draws closer and TV schedules firm up

Have a good 'un in the meantime

Right --howdeh, HNY'z and all that

No changes since the last update --Watford away live on the Fox Soccer Plus premium subscription channel (621 on DirecTV) this Saturday 14 January from 12:20 PM Eastern U.S. time (9:20 AM on the West Coast)

What's nice about that, aside from a couple of extra hours, is the fact that there really won't be any other games going anywhere for the duration of the match --no tea-time fixture in the Prem, f'rinstance-- and Saturday's NFL playoff hoo-hah won't be getting under way until long after the full-time whistle goes at the Vic

(Chi/Detroit fans please note, however, that Wings v. Hawks is scheduled for 12:30 PM EDT on Saturday live on NBC, so getting a good spot in the sports bar at least a half an hour before they drop the puck at the Joe wouldn't be a rash thing to do)

Repeat screenings of the Watford match on FS+ are set to roll from 4:00 AM on Sunday and 9:00 AM on Tuesday the 17th (times Eastern); FoxSoccer.tv subscribers can stream it live or at will from the FSTV on-demand archive

Two other items of interest:
--The Bristol City home fixture is not a TV match but has been moved forward by three days to what is now the open Cup date of Saturday 28 January; KO is at the normal 3:00 PM GMT/10:00 AM Eastern U.S. (the fixture originally was scheduled for the following Tuesday 31 January at 8 PM GMT)

--Burnley at home has been moved up a day to Friday 17 February, with KO set for 8:00 PM GMT/3:00 PM U.S. EST; FS+ should have that, but Sky just got it rearranged, and we have reason to expect confirmation soon of a live screening here

That'll wrap it for now

Since myp2p disappeared I have been relying on VIPbox (http://www.vipbox.tv/sports/football.html) it usually does a very good job of listing streams that are available and at the moment they are saying:

http://www.vipbox.tv/watch/27759/1/watf ... nline.html

will be showing the game - they had Australia v India on that channel today streamed from Sky Sports 1 HD so I suspect it should be good for the match.

This is a good site for looking up anything stream related. You would have to check tomorrow for any live links.

Good chance of a feed being available for today's game as it is a feature game on The Football League Show. Will have a look around and post up potential links

Don't think there is a feature game today, it's only a 35 minutes show and I think that works out at something like 8 minutes of highlights.
