moo
Harpers So Solid Crew This is definitely a good reason for a midwinter break in Jan.

Random weeks that are considerably colder than others?

My sarcasm missed the target there I think.

I seem to recall Ipswich-Leicester last season going ahead in blizzard like conditions with layers on snow on the pitch.

The reason? Sky Sports.

Why did Donny build a new stadium with no under soil heating?

Me too hope the re arranged game is near the end of the season. Suprised a new ground hasn't got undersoil heating though.

moo So how much does a undersoil heating system cost to buy and then install ?

Believe Doncaster have covers which are effective down to -6 so not really sure that that really matter in this instance - oh and even undersoil heating is only effective down to about the same temperature

question is void, as doncaster rovers fc do not own the stadium, the council do, and they didn't want to have it.

Which is still ridiculous. Modern stadiums should have them, its like them deciding they dont want 4 stands. It's just the 'done thing' in modern stadiums, out of respect for the opposition as well. Not only that but it is a lot healthier for the pitch to have it as well

Another odd thing about this... they said its only 'areas' of the pitch that are frozen and called off the game at 11am. Could they not have got the heaters out and sorted it? Maybe not but i'm just a little surprised

Doncaster has shown "respect" for the opposition. The match will now go ahead on an warmer day. Standing around in the cold is not that much fun. Give me April skies, warm sunrays, etc, etc.

Was it snowing there like it is in the brum game? If so I'm glad it was cancelled cos the Saints game is ruined by the weather. Kebe would have hated it!

Well. We got to m42, heard it was off and decided to try and get tickets for wba vs swans. Freezing cold sat near the front. (only place we could get tickets). Soon was warmed by the fact wba fans sat behind us in hearing distance, were making comments along the lines of "sigurdsson is the best player on the pitch' and sigurdsson is dominating our midfield'. Just makes you feel a bit more appreciative that we helped develop him, and witness his quality regularly, first hand. Swans fans have been very impressed with him, and are hoping he wants to stay with them next season and maybe longer.
