RoyalJames101 Why does everyone think ALF is our best striker? He's our best natural finisher, but how many chances have we been creating recently? Hardly any. If we aren't creating much its better to have Hunt or Church to at least run them around for a good 75 minutes, instead of having a natural finisher playing who won't get any chances or run around.

Alf has equal goals to Church but assists on top of that

and he beats Hunt 11-8

11-8 what? :|

Ian Royal Church returning to form after his brief flurry is also disappointing.

Brief flurry of 1-2 yard tap ins and claiming the goals of others? Frankly I'd be pissed if I was ALF

Agree with this. I would really love to see Alf playing of Roberts

an Alf Roberts partnership? I guess if we played Blackburn it'd make for an easy "Rovers Return" headline.

specialjon Interesting that mills was prefered to Antonio. Could Antonio be off on loan?

Injured.

As for Feds, best keep in this league.

Why don't you do your usual stats then and find out how many assists Hunt has assisted. Plus add on to that the amount of running he does compared to ALF, the amount he wins in the air and his partnership with Roberts.

Football isn't all about stats.

Thought Roberts and Connolly were the two class acts today. Roberts' work for the first goal was particularly impressive.

Cywka was excellent when he came on, wish he'd started at LM instead of Mills.

Karacan my MoTM today

Said to the Chap next to me that the game needed a moment of class to get it all kick started and then moments later Roberts superbly played in Kebe. Snowball - does that count as an assist to the assist?

Can he play on the left though?

Pretty much agree with most of what has been posted already other than the one who spoke of Church possibly being an option because of his pace-what pace?
He always looks as though he is running on the spot and treading water.
Thought Roberts did quite well again and he brings a better shape to our attacking play with his ability to bring others into play-the one big surprise and disappointment for me is that he isn't as good in the air as I remember him being.
Perhaps he and Church should consult whoever got the Irish boys (Doyle,Long and Hunt)to jump so well.

I thought Jem and Legs were very industrious and to use the cliche "They did all the ugly bits" and did them well.
This division really is rubbish though and whoever goes up will IMHO need a total overhaul just to survive.
West Ham are top despite being considerably weaker than their relegated side which remember had Scott Parker and Dembe Ba and still got relegated.
As long as our Russian is more of a Chelsea Russian than a Pompey Russian we might just be one of those sides and I feel that only Federici would be sure of a place next season as once again he earned us 3 points that could so easily have just been 1 point.

Feds was good but Karacan was my MOM, Connolly had a solid game as did most players, although i don't like the look of Mills and hope he remains on the bench in games to come along with Charlotte Church

Well we were told he can play on either wing when he was signed so I hope so.

He's no Long or Lita but he's quicker than any of our other strikers, unless you count Manset's ability to run 20 yards very quickly once a match

"How shit must you be" was funny

once. When Fulham did it.

Singing it it 0-0 must make the Coventry players feel great. So yeah, gr8 fans.

Agreed. Can't quite get my head around how that would motivate their team. Then again, can't quite get my head around Reading fans booing Church coming on. oxf*rd.

He looks like his legs are moving really fast, but he makes up no ground on the centre half.

I think most if not all of our forwards would beat him in a race. Pearce would probably too.

It's another disappointing performance from Church. He comes on 2 nil up against the bottom club - and did nothing apart from miss a sitter. Alf must be well pissed off.

Just a few points:

ANOTHER goal from a Harte set piece that will soon be forgotten by most
Mills is just plain shit. but still marginally better than Antonio
Good to see Roberts score but very little else was good about his performance
Some good camera saves by Fed

Overall, a pretty dreadful footballing spectacle. yet again.

What complete and utter rubbish! OK, fine, so you don't rate Church but don't tell blatant lies! Or perhaps you'd gone for a pee when Chruch started some way behind one of their centre halves and got ahead of him.

I'm slightly worried about how few headers Roberts won today though.
