Royal Bahamas Reading -v- Arsenal at Highbury, in the mid 60's. We lost the game, but it was magic to be there, and see RFC playing such a dominant team, as Arsenal were in those days. I know there are other Hob Nobbers who were there that night. Colin Meldrum fired a shot at Goal from his own half, and hit the bar! Awesome! The atmosphere was amazing......

Jackson CornerPete10Tony Le Mesmer Any game from the start of the 85/86 season. There isnt any TV footage of the record run due to some strike, so being able to relive that would be pretty special. Preferably the Wolves game where we didnt make it 14, just so i can go back & see how many people REALLY were in the ground that night!
Nearly 20 thousand in the place that night.
Easy, Like the Simod semi. I would like to know one day if the real gates for those games will be known. Post Hysel the capacity was supposed to be 15,000. Both those games you could hardly breathe the place was so packed.

Ark Royalblythspartan I have seen some really great Reading games over the last 40 years and also many dire games as well. There are lots of games I would love to see again like the second leg of the play off semi final against Wigan. However, If I could only choose one game to re-live it would be in the 1978/79 season when we beat Grimsby 4-0 at Elm Park and I am sure that John Alexander scored all 4 goals. That game made a great impression on me as a young Reading fan. What would be the one game that you would love to re-live?
Some photos to add to your memories:

Ark Royal Reading 3 Orient 2 69/70. Jack Mansell's wonderful passing team at its finest.
Reading 5 Tranmere 0 75/76. At last, a BIG performance against big rivals and THE goal.
Reading 4 Chesterfield 2 85/86. A hat-trick by God, an all-out assault on the Chesterfield goal, 25 corners to their 1!
Reading 2 Wolves 2 85/86. Despite not making it 14, an absolutely packed, rabid Elm Park made it a night to remember.
Reading 4 Plymouth 3 85/86. THE comeback and an excuse to tell the bloke in front of me on the Tilehurst End to stay and watch the last 25 minutes despite being 0-3 down.
Tranmere 1 Reading 3 94/95. The most perfect and clinical performance I had ever witnessed.
Reading 4 Wolves 2 94/95. WERE you watching, Mark McGhee?

Green Probably the Middlesbrough Coca Cola cup quarter final. Sure we lost in the end but it was a close run thing, and I was young enough that I hadn't grown out of football at the time.

Norfolk Royal I'd probably say that four-niller we had against Aldershot at home circa late 70s, think it was a bank holiday Monday and big crowd around 15k. That was just heaven on earth for a 16-year old as I was at the time.

Norfolk Royal That's not really an overhead by Ollie tbf. He more sort of fell into it by the looks of it.
What a day that was. Remember it clear as anything which isn't bad considering it was 33 years ago.
I remember that fat beardy Aldershot player stood on the goal line, can't remember his name though. Also, is that Youlden playing number five for the Shots that day?
