MOTD Opening Sequence

by EPR » 19 Aug 2012 13:34

Not quite up there with our debut season, but more prominent than some...

0.5 seconds worth. I was disappointed, but I did like the model mock-up of the madstad they used before the highlights.

Lineker called it the MAJESKI , I seem to remember he did the same thing last time we went up, I don`t think he will do it again.

I know I shouldn't be, but I was really disappointed with the MOTD analysis.

Hansen is a parody of himself, Linekar is an idiot and Shearer must have someone to tie his shoes up for him. The opening game is an opportunity to discuss each team's chances for the coming season and how their performance fits into that. What's changed since last season etc. Instead, we got ages of Hansen moaning about defending that wasn't that bad, and cliched garbage that told us nothing.

I shouldn't be surprised.

Most do call it the Majeski though. So what? Perhaps someone can tell him to just call it the Madstad, as most do, then he wont have to put up with the happy clapping spastics tweeting him how to pronounce it properly....

Agree with Ian Royal.

I thought the "analysis" was pretty weak. No surprise that we were on almost last, but I was expecting them to at least give us some analysis, rather than just 3 replays of Federici's howler. I don't seem to recall any debate about whether it was in fact a penalty, and the highlights didn't even feature the earlier penalty incident.

This was not really much of a step up from Football League Show highlights.

It's not hard to get it right though is it? The stadium's only been there for what, 14 years? You don't hear any body calling Liverpool's ground Enfield, or Spurs' ground being called White Hart Road.

It's not even hard to get it right phonetically - "mad ej ski"

Why on earth anyone, let alone pundits, seem to think it's pronounced "maj ej ski" is beyond me

Step down IMO.

tink just 3 replays of Federici's howler.

Actually Hanson referred to it as "Federikki's" howler.

The only time we got on MOTD first in 2 seasons was the 6-0 drubbing of WHU IIRC. Perhaps the 3-2 Boro game also was 1st/2nd on.

We'll have to do something pretty special to get any decent analysis / higher up the bill. The analysis last night was crap agreed.

Rubbish - we were on first lots of times (including the Middlesbrough game). But not always for good reasons, from our point of view.
